A/N: Hey, so I updated the description of the story because I realized that I didn't mention what the 'legend' actually was..my bad. To the people of the future, this is irrelevant to you, just continue reading :D.

[Third Person POV]

The sun sunk beneath the ground into night. The stars twinkling softly as the world was put to rest and the critters came out of hiding. The thief and skipper slept soundly. Although the floor was hard and the air was hot, the big black sky absorbed their worries.

Dream woke up to the sudden, but soft halt the boat came to. He looked around tiredly to see Technoblade already up and looking at the trees carefully. The blonde sat up and stretched his arms out as he yawned, alerting the taller one that he was awake.

"Enjoy your beauty sleep?" Technoblade said playfully after he turned his head to face him.

Dream huffed and ignored his comment. "What are you doing?"

"I'm getting breakfast." He responded and peered up at the trees again, searching the branches and leaves.

The blonde got to his feet, walking over to the taller one and glancing at the trees for a moment. "I don't think I follow." He said, clearly confused.

Just after, Technoblade's eyes lit up and pointed his pistol at one of the branches, shooting and hearing the sudden plop of something hitting the wooden deck of the boat. Dream looked at the floor and his face went to a disgusted one. This man just shot a rat from a tree.

Technoblade held the rat up by it's tail, showing off it's dangling body to Dream who felt like he was about to throw up.

Dream covered his mouth with his hand. "There's no way I'm eating that."

"Just watch." Technoblade said as he tossed the dead rat into the river. Soon the water in that spot began to splash and bounce around. He grabbed a net leaning on the steering wheel and scooped up a few fish that fell for the bait.

The skipper dumped the three fish on the deck and grinned, proud of the catch he obtained. "Bon Appetit."

Dream watched the whole thing unfold with the most confused and concerned look he thought he'll ever make. He looked at Technoblade, then at the fish, then at Technoblade again.

"What have I gotten myself into." He sadly said to himself, but loud enough for Technbolade to hear.

"They're the freshest piranha's you'll ever eat. I'll admit they have a weird aftertaste, but the flavor is there." He responded as he grabbed them all by the tail and carefully set them in the fuel engine to cook.

Couple hours later, the two were munching piranha's on sticks. The taste wasn't that bad considering being prepared by Technoblade. However, Dream didn't really care what they tasted like. He was already so hungry having not eaten since the morning of yesterday.

The sun was high above them, beaming down harshly like no tomorrow. Exotic plants grew from the sides of the river, almost touching the boat.

Dream noticed a cluster of large, colorful plants. He looked at them with amazement, slowly reaching out to them.

"What are these? Do you know?" Dream asked, grabbing Techno's attention as he jolted up and shouted.

"Hey, keep your hands in the boat! You don't know what that is." He started.

Dream groaned at the man being a control freak. "Jeez, I was just curious."

"Know this, pretty boy. Everything you see in the jungle wants to kill you. And can." Technoblade crossed his arms with authority.

Dream just rolled his eyes.

The boat gradually made it's way upstream. After numerous questions from Dream and a lot of teasing comments from Technoblade, the river split into two.

"Which way do we go?" Dream asked.

The taller sighed softly. "Both lead to the same destination, except one is down the rapids and the other isn't."

"Well, which way is quicker?" Dream asked. Again.

Technoblade was quiet for a moment. "The rapid one is two days faster, but it's too risky. We could find our way down a waterfall if we're not careful."

"We don't have that kind of time though. There are clearly people that are after us for some reason and I don't wanna spend any more time with you than I have to." Dream protested.

"Listen, that way is literally death. You would need an expert to navigate through it and make it out alive." He argued back with venom in his words.

"That's why I hired you, right?" Dream quickly yelled.

They looked at each other for a second, then the pinkette sighed once again.

"Fine, but if you go overboard, don't expect me to come save you, pretty boy."

"Well I'd expect nothing less from you, skippy." Dream smirked at the name he gave him. Technoblade glared at him with his piercing red eyes, but the smaller one seemed unfazed.

"It's skipper." He said shortly, very visibly irritated.

"My mistake." Dream just continued to smirk wider, almost to the point where he could let out a laugh.

Technoblade just turned to the steering wheel, rotating the boat to face the river on the left.

The trip was silent the whole way. Dream continued to stare off at the scenery in front of them while Technoblade lead them down the river, awaiting their unfortunate fate.

That was until a wave crashed onto the boat, drenching the hard-wood floors and both of the duo's feet. They both jolted at the sudden hit of water and Technoblade gripped the wheel tighter. Another wave hit, Dream ran under the awning where the taller one was and held on to the side of the wall for dear life.

Techno flipped his head around to look at Dream, who already looked scared out of his mind. "You wanna turn back?" He said simply.

The blonde shook his head rapidly. "Just getting started." His voice was shaky, but sure.

The taller one whipped his head back on the water in front of him, mentally preparing himself for what he was about to do. "Good, so am I."
