Chapter 2

"What did you do?!" Mia shouted at me amusement hidden in her voice.

"What do you mean?" I asked completely confused. I began walking my way towards my third subject with Mia which is Calculus.

"Oh, I meant what happened with Alexis. In case you didn't notice, students were talking about it nonstop." She said as she opened the door to our class.

"What? In case you didn't notice too, I am Alexis! What are you talking about?" I asked bewildered as I take my seat at the end of the class.

"I'm talking about the little incident that happened earlier which involved an embarassing underwear experience with a boy named Alexis that is circulating around the campus." She explained stressing the word boy. I felt heat on my cheeks as I remembered the embarassing scene that happened earlier.

"Oh that. So Alexis is the name of that devil. How lovely, we have the same name." I said with full sarcasm.

"Yes my dear, you do have the same name. Now can we drop the sarcasm and proceed on the explaining?" She said as she roll her hands in the air indicating me to explain what happened.

I prepared myself for explaining because knowing Mia, she'll want every single detail and bombared me with a whole lot of questions which is the last thing I want right now. As I was about to open my mouth, the professor sauntered in and began introducing himself. Oh, faith must be taking my side right now.

I looked at Mia and shot her an apologetic look. She glared at me while mouthing 'explain later'. I just nod as a reply and quickly settled in my seat and focused on my professor that is speaking.

I am slowly drifting to sleep in the middle of the class because of boredom when the door suddenly swung open revealing the last person I wanted to see right now.

What is he doing in my class?! Don't tell me we have Calculus together?! I began to panic as I remember that the only vacant seat left is right beside me.

"Wow Mr. Finch. I'm glad you decided to show up. You may take a seat right beside Ms. Jacobsen because apparently that's the only vacant seat. Please raise your hand Ms. Jacobsen." My professor said.

My body had gone cold as it dawned to me that I need to raise my hand. I slowly raised my sweaty hand as I obeyed his order.

"There you go Mr. Finch. You may take your seat now. And please, spare yourself from being late again." While the professor is talking, the devil walked his way to his seat next to me as if no one is talking to him.

I rolled my eyes at his action. What a good thing to do. Now it's proven that he's really a pain in the butt.

He's eyes suddenly bore into mine and I immediately saw recognition in his eyes.

Oh God, no way. He can't recognize me! He can't! I looked away and focused on the paper infront of my desk and began to act like I'm writing something. I dropped my hair to cover my face.

Then I heard a moving chair beside me indicating that the devil is already seated beside me. My heart raced fast as my mind began to panic.

Oh dear God help me please. I don't want to die. I don't want to die. I have so many dreams that I still want to achieve. Let me experience having a boyfriend first. I still haven't got my first kiss. And please! Don't let me die a vir-

I snapped out of my senses as i felt a tap on my left shoulder. "Hey cupcake." I fought the heat from creeping onto my cheeks because of what he called me. Fudge it! Don't you dare blush Alexis!

"What did you just called me you little son of a bug?" I snapped at him. I glared at him to help him notice, just incase he still didn't know, that I hate his presence.

"You really like to call me different names, don't you? I much prefer if you call me baby, cupcake. Isn't that cute?" He said as he inched his face closer to mine.

I immediately inched away and flashed the most blank face I can muster and said in a very dull tone, "No. No it's not."

"Ms. Jacobsen, Mr. Finch! Can I interrupt your little sweet discussion over there because I have something important to announce." Mr. Finley, our professor said as he raised his eyebrows at us.

"No, you idiot." The little devil whispered beside me. I glared at him and focused my attention infront. "I'm very sorry for that Mr. Finley. Please continue." I said.

"You little jerk, did you just call Mr. Finley an idiot?" I silently hissed at him.

He mimicked my words in a mocking tone which earned a smack from me. In response, he just laughed at me. "Wait," he said as if he just realized something. "What?"

"Did you just called me little?" He asked with an amused tone. I flashed him a dull face and answered, "No, I just called you little." This time, it was his turn to send a glare.

"Oh cupcake I guarantee you that there's nothing little in me." He said and playfully smirked at me.

I groaned at his response and looked away as I felt a blush on my cheeks.

At the corner of my eyes I saw him lean on my ear and he whispered in a playful tone, "You're so cute when you blush." Without looking I smack him hard and I let out a satisfied smirk when I heard a groan on his side.

My attention was drawn back at Mr. Finley as I heard him talk. "As I was saying, we won't be starting our lessons till next week. So feel free to be happy." He said and smiled at all of us. "But, I have something to say. This will be your seat for the whole year. You can't exchange seats or else you'll receive a punishment from me. Another one is that every semester I will set a project that will be done in pairs. Before you say anything, no you can't choose your partner because your partner will be the one sitting next to you. He/she will be your partner for the rest of the school year. That's it." He said. "And oh, you can't exchange partners!" He said and smiled.

My eyes widened as it sinked in to me that my partner is the little ugly, irritating bug sitting next to me.

"No way. No fudging way. I can't be partnered with this ugly looking monkey." I mumbled to myself.

Suddenly, the bell rang, signalling the end of class.

"Oh yes way, yes way cupcake." He whispered playfully to me as he began to stand up and exit the class.
