I woke up upon hearing an irritating sound beside my bed.
Great, I almost forgot it's first day of school.
I immediately turned off the alarm clock beside me and got up my bed to fix myself.
I took almost thirty minutes to fix myself for school before I got down the dining room.
"Hey mom, what's up for breakfast?" I asked as I saw my mom at the kitchen. I dropped my bag at the chair beside me and got to my own sit.
"I'm cooking pancakes! What would you prefer, a chocolate or strawberry syrup?" Mom asked happily as she faced me. "I prefer Chocolate mom." I said and smiled at her softly.
My mom was a perfectionist. She likes to take control of all the things to avoid conflicts. Sometimes, I actually find it hard to cope up with her. But then it's just one of the reasons why I love her.
"Where's Aliyah? Haven't seen her since I woke up." I asked mom
"She headed off to school early, guess she didn't wanna' be late for school at first day." she answered and raised an eyebrow at me suspiciously. She poured hot chocolate syrup on my pancake and passed it to me.
"Don't look at me like that!", I said as I raised both of my hands, "It's still early to head off to school. I'm not going to be late, ok?" I said and finished off eating.
I sauntered to the the girl infront of our school gate whom I haven't seen since forever, kidding. "Hey bestfriend." I playfully nudged Mia's shoulder and winked at her.
"Hey to you too bestfriend." She said and did the exact same thing.
"So let me see your schedule so I can compare them with mine." She said as she grabbed her schedule from her bag and began to walk inside of the campus. I quickly grabbed mine and gave it to her as I keep up with her.
"Hmm... let's see, we both have Calculus as third subject, we have the same lunch time and we also have English Lit as our last subject. Not bad." She said and smiled at me.
"Not as good as last year though, I mean we have five classes together last year." I said and snatched my schedule that's in her hand.
"Aww, don't worry lexy bear! We have lunch together so that's considered great!" She said and laughed whole heartedly upon realizing how she just addressed me.
"Eww, enough with that lexy bear. Now go get to your first class before you get late." I said as I shooed her away.
"Wow, very eager to get away from me. Well then I'll see you at Calculus lexy bear! Don't miss me too much!" She shouted as she got away from me half running to get to her first class.
"That girl." I hissed as I heard how she addressed me again. She knows how much I hate that nickname yet she keeps on calling me that.
I slowly started to walk my way into my locker to get the things I need for my first subject which is
Art History. You see, I took up architecture for this top university here in London mainly because it's my biggest dream. And now, I'm currently on my second year and I'm really enjoying it so far. I mean, to design a structure for someone to make them happy just makes me happy too. When I was still young, I would draw pictures of what I wanted my future home to look like and show it to my mom. She would always smile and say that I'm good at it which encourages me to draw better. Since then, I promised myself I would-
"Ouch!" I hissed as I fell to the ground with a loud thud. I looked up to see an unfamiliar handsome face towering over me and clutching his phone on his hands. I met his eyes and froze as I stare at the pair of blue eyes which mesmerizes me and glued me on place.
He immediately got up not bothering to help me up. I quickly got up and straightened my clothes.
He didn't even look up to me to apologize instead went back to see something on his phone. Wow.
"Why, thank you for helping me up." I said stressing my sarcasm. He looked up to me and said, "You're very much welcome." I gaped at him shocked at his response. Wow, a total jerk.
"Jerk." I said silently hissed but making sure he'll hear it and slowly began to walk away from him to control my anger.
Before I can even completely walk away from him, he snatched my hand and leaned forward, much to my surprise and whispered coldly, "Say something I don't know, cupcake." he smirked at me and I began to stare at his lips.
"Cupcake's not the name, jerk." I said through gritted teeth to prevent myself from stuttering infront of him. He must've noticed how he affects me as he smirked wider and replied, "Well you see, I don't really care." I gaped at him, too shocked to respond. As I was about to say something, he smirked even wider if that's possible and quickly dropped my hand and walked away cooly.
"Oh and by the way, nice choice of underwear cupcake! Next time don't go around flashing them!" He shouted as he walked away.
Oh my God, he did not!
I stared at his retreating figure as I feel heat slowly creeping from my cheeks. That jerk! Who does he think he is to shout things about my underwear just like that!
I just stared at the path he just walked through, my eyes surely ready to come out of it's socket right now unable to process what just happened.
Can somebody explain how I managed to get through that? I groaned as I heard the school bell rang, signalling that I'm going to be late to my first class if I don't start walking right now.
What a great way to start my school year. Please note the sarcasm.
