PrologueThird person's POV
"Alexia baby please hurry up sweety, you'll make us miss our flight." Mrs Brooks shouted at her little daughter.
"Where is she? We need to get going now. Go and see what she's up to yeah? I'll put the luggage in the car in the meanwhile. "
Mrs Brooks told her wife and on this Mrs Brooks went to fetch Alexia in her room to find a crying Alexia in the corner of her now empty room."Hey baby what's wrong? Why are you crying? " Mrs Brooks took Alexia in her arms trying to comfort her but it was of no use. Alexia cuddled with her mom crying even harder.
"Shhh Lexi, beautiful and good girls don't cry baby. You're momma's good little girl right?"
"I am momma but I don't wanna leave. Please can we stay here? Please momma, I promise I won't do any mischiefs but please let's stay here." Alexia said between sobs.
"Shh calm down. Look I know you're sad to leave your best friend Kate but sweety I promise you'll have many friends there too and London isn't that bad you know. It's very beautiful and have lots of places where you can have fun."
"Carole we need to go." Mr Brooks shouted from downstairs.
"But Kate won't be there, what if no one likes me?"
"Don't worry about that Lexi, you have that charm in you that people can't resist now come we're getting late. You don't wanna make your daddy angry right?"
"No." Alexia said faintly.
From the USA to the UK, it was quite a change but the Brooks family had no choice but to leave their beautiful house and neighborhood and move to London. Now that Mr Brooks is one of the best CEO he had a bigger work and more responsibility to accomplish and he decided that London will be best for his new path in the business world. As for Alexia her parents weren't that worried as she's still only eight and they were more than sure that she'll definitely adjust to the new surrounding.
Landing at the Heathrow airport after so many hours of flight didn't improve the sadden mood of Alexia, she was more than bored, tired and most of all she missed her old house already. But when the Brooks family arrived at their new house, the eyes of little Alexia lightened immediately. The house was just magnificent and the neighborhood smelt of high class people everywhere.
"You like the house Lexi?" Mr Brooks asked her daughter.
"Yes,yes, yes can I see my room? Please please?" Alexia asked eagerly full of excitement.
You would never have said that it was this Alexia itself who was completely against from moving to London. She completely forgot the reasons why she was so sad for leaving her home.
Alexia's room was indeed really big, it was painted in light purple, dark purple and white. All her furniture was completely matching with the decor. From the carpet, curtains, the queen sized bed, her closet and her en -suite everything was perfect. Alexia was in awe all this entire time with her jaw literally sweeping the floor.
"So I guess you like it?" Mrs Brooks asked.
"Oh yess momma, this is just so great. It's double the size of my old bedroom." Alexia exclaimed bouncing up and down. Conclusion being the only daughter of one of the best CEO definitely has it's perks.
It's only when it was bedtime when Mrs Brooks were tucking her to bed that Alexia started to feel lonely and actually started missing her best friend.
"Momma?"
"Yes sweety?"
"Can you sleep here tonight?"
"Oh Lexi, I'm so sorry but your father and I are going out tonight and we'll be late but don't worry we engaged a Nanny 24/7 so she'll look after you okay?" Mrs Brooks kissed her daughter goodnight and left a crying Alexia behind.
Frustrated, Alexia got out of bed and went on her balcony attached to her room. The chilly air of London making her feel a tat bit better. Seeing the vast garden joining her house and her neighbor's curiosity got to her and she climbed down her balcony to explore that garden which was kinda intriguing her.
"I hate London so far." She mumbled to herself.
"It's not that bad when you get used to it." A voice in the darkness replied her.
"Who are you?" Alexia asked slightly getting scared but still moving towards that unknown voice.
"Your neighbor. "
"What are you doing here? And why are you not coming in front of me?"
"Well you see this garden is for the both of us so I can be here whenever I can." The voice replied and abruptly came out of the dark to stand in front of Alexia.
"Sorry I wasn't aware of that." Alexia replied more gently this time.
Her mood was lightened automatically at the sight of the boy in front of her. He had dark chocolate brown hair and hazel brown eyes.
"Anyway I'm Aiden and I'm nine years old. What about you?"
"Eurmm I'm Alexia and I'm eight."
"Alexia huh? Umm but I'll call you Lex, it's easier."
"Well I like Aiden so I guess I'll call you Aiden itself. "
"As you wish, anyway need to get going. See you tomorrow Lex, goodnight. "
And he disappeared mysteriously as he appeared in front of Alexia and both of them went to their respective room. Least did they know that this night marked the beginning of a marvellous friendship.
