Sitting in our last period class, Peter's leg is bouncing up and down and his finger keeps tapping against the desk.
The bell rings and Peter practically flies out of his seat. I quickly shove my books in my bag and follow after him.
"Peter, slow down." I tell him as he rushes out of the school. He turns around and grabs my hand, pulling me along with him.
"Peter, we're not in a race. Stop running." I laugh as we get outside. We stop in front of the massive gate. He smiles at me and looks around.
"You see anybody?" He asks. I look around and shake my head.
He turns to face the large metal fence and leaps over it. I scoff at his showing off and fly over it, landing next to him.
"Come on." He says and we make our way to Delmar's Deli-Grocery.
I wait outside while Peter goesto grab something to eat.
(Inside the deli)
"Sup, Mr. Delmar?" Peter says as he walks in.
"Hey, Mr. Parker." He greets. "Number five, right?"
"Yeah, and, uh, with pickles and can you smush it down real flat? Thanks." Peter says.
"You got it, boss." The man says. Mr. Delmar leans his elbows on the counter in front of him. He has this routine with Peter. Right after school he goes over and gets a sandwich before starting his patrolling. Usually on his own.
"Who's the girl? That her?" Mr. Delmar asks looking over at Y/n.
Peter lets out a dry laugh. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, that's her."
Again. Routine. He knows all about her- Peter's crush on her of course.
"Oh, yeah? How's she doing?" He asks. "You tell her how you feel?"
"Nah, man. I can't." Peter tells him.
"You can't? What do you mean 'you can't'?" Mr. Delmar asks.
"It's, uh... complicated." Peter explains.
"What, she got a boyfriend?" He laughs.
"No, no. Definitely not." He says.
"Alright, man." He shrugs. "How's school?" Delmar asks.
"Ah, it's boring. Got better things to do." Peter answers.
"What, like chasing after a girl till your legs fall off?" He jokes. "Stay in school, kid. Otherwise you're gonna end up like me." He says motioning to his store.
"This is great." Peter says looking around.
"Best sandwiches in Queens." He says handing him his sandwich. "Quit making your girl wait, it's cold out."
Peter looks down, smiling to himself as he left. "Thanks, Mr. Delmar!" He calls out before opening the door and leaving.
Peter and I run across the street and into an alley. We rip off our shoes and throw them ahead of us. I take off my flannel, leaving me in a tank top as he pulls off his jeans, stepping on them like a child.
I run behind a dumpster, pulling my suit out of my bag and taking off my jeans.
I peak out at Peter and see him pulling his shirt over his head, revealing his toned body.
I slip on my suit and use my magic to zip up the back as I tie my hair up. I pull on my boots, then step out from behind the dumpster as I put on my mask.
"Ready?" I ask with my bag floating behind me. I look over to see Peter pressing a button in the centre of his suit, tightening it.
"Race you?" He asks me and we jump into the air, flying and swinging around the city.
