One could dream
of the glittering stars
seen from the highest
cityscapeAs one would dream
—reach out to
the unattainable sky
with everything you have
until you can't anymoreOne could dream
of the fairness never given
to anyone in this world
nor in the nextAs one would dream
—empty ourselves
for the fight that would
never be over, at least
in this world or the nextOne could dream
of the love it takes
to fix a broken soul
or water a dry desertAs one could dream
—scream into the void
with every bit of our voice
until we can't have anymoreOne could dream
of the silence and peace
never granted to anyone
in this world but in the nextAs one would dream
—desire the end of the journey
with everything you have
until you can't live anymoreOne could dream
of the fulfillment
of dreams yonder
and as one would dream
—we gaze up at the skies
until our time comes
and we can't anymore
