Edward took a deep breath and made his way down the stairs, slowly. Wendy knocked again and Harry yelled, “Oh, go on, Eddie! Do I have to shove you down the stairs?”
Shut up, Harry, Edward thought. His nerves were already on edge enough as it is. Was she coming to tell him she got the abortion and that she was leaving him? Was she coming to say she wanted child support and that she kept the baby? Edward didn’t know; either way, though, he wasn’t expecting the outcome to be very good.
He finally reached the front door and he took a deep breath. Pulling the door open, he saw Wendy standing there, looking just as beautiful as always. “Hey, Eddie.”
“Hey, babe,” Edward said, smiling at her a little.
She didn’t say anything else. She just flung herself into his arms, wrapping her arms around him tightly, sobbing onto his shoulder. He was stunned at first, but he hugged her back. He kicked the door shut gently after he pulled her inside. He held her tight against him as it felt she wasn’t going to let up in her grip on him.
“Shh,” he soothed. “Shh. It’s going to be alright, babe.”
She pulled back to look at him. “I couldn’t do it, Eddie. I couldn’t go through with the abortion.”
Edward looked her in the eyes, smiling. “You didn’t?”
“No,” Wendy said. “I got there this morning, set on doing it. I filled out the paperwork and everything, but when they took me back and had me on that table...I couldn’t. I couldn’t stand the thought of killing it. It didn’t ASK to be conceived. It was an accident. It wasn’t the baby’s fault that its inside me.”
Edward grinned huge, pressing his lips to Wendy’s. She was taken by surprise at first, but kissed him back passionately. He pulled back and put their foreheads together. “I’m so glad you didn’t go through with it. I mean...yeah, I’m not ready for this. I just think this child deserves a chance to live. WE deserve the chance to be parents. I mean, this baby is in our lives for a reason. I think we’ll be okay. I mean, it’s not like the baby is gonna be here tomorrow, right? We still have at least eight months to sort everything out, prepare ourselves.”
Wendy nodded. “Yeah. That’s what I thought, too, just before they were about to perform the abortion. That’s one of the reasons I stopped them. I’m sorry about yesterday. Hitting you and yelling at you.”
“Not as sorry as I am,” Edward said. “God, I don’t know where that shit came from. I didn’t mean it, Wendy. I was shocked, I was scared, I was WORRIED. I need to learn to control my temper.”
Wendy kissed him. “You’re forgiven. I love you, Eddie.”
“I love you, too,” Edward said, hugging her tight. “So much, Wendy. I was so scared you were gonna leave me.”
“I’ll never leave you,” Wendy whispered. “We could have the world’s BIGGEST fight, and I would never leave you. I love you way too much for that.”
Edward kissed her again, lifting her up and wrapping her legs around his waist. She giggled into the kiss as he pressed her back against the wall, kissing her deeply and passionately. She wrapped her fingers through his hair and he kept a firm grip on her legs. He started kissing down her neck and Wendy tossed her head back against the wall, moaning softly.
“Make-up sex, huh?” she asked with a chuckle. “I like it.”
Edward smirked. “Mmm Hmm. I’ll show you just how sorry I am. Trust me.”
Wendy winked down at him. “Well, I’m still angry at you. I’ll show you how angry I am...ass.”
Edward giggled, shivering a little. “Mmm. Can’t wait for that.”
