Chapter 7

"What do you do for fun around here?" I say awkwardly fiddling with my fingers.

"Read."

"That all?"

He simply nods and grabs a book from the shelf and sits down on the couch. His wings shuffle around behind him before settling and he opens the book.

He slides the mask of his face placing it on the ground by his feet.

I just stare dumbfounded, I'd expected him to hide his face for a reason but no a pure freckled sits before me.

His green eyes are bright, freckles sit like stars across his nose and cheeks, the tufts of dirty blonde hair fall by his face as his eyes flicker along the pages of the book.

"Read to me." I say sitting down on the woolen carpet on the ground.

He stops reading and looks at me.

"This is a book of shakespeare quotes, I'm up to the romantic literature and happiness section."

He looks down at the page and starts reading.

"Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore winged cupid is painted blind."

He snaps his fingers and the fireplace behind me lights up. I flinch and then adjust to the warmth.

"My love is as deep as the sea. The more I give the more infinite."

I'm honestly really bored just listening to him read quotes. But I have to at least look like I'm engaged.

I don't think I am doing a good enough as I realise he is no longer reading and just staring at me.

I stare back.

"You're bored"

I shake my head and lean down into my elbows legs still crossed.

" What do you want to do?"

"I want to go hunting" I say instantly.

"Anything for you chicken girl"

"Oi" I yell at him as the surroundings change.
