"uhm, sorry, hello Mrs. Winchester, where would you like to meet?" I had butterflies in my stomach, even though I was in a hospital, with my mom. If she got me this scared on the phone I couldn't imagine what she would like in real life, or in person.

"Well, i live in Long Island, maybe you could come take a train up to Le Bernardin tomorrow?"

"The restaurant?" i asked in disbelief.  Only the richest of the rich could afford to go there.

"yes!" she sounded a little too excited which made me even more scared. I mean for all i know she could be a witch..  I'v watched Harry Potter too many time to fall into that trap.

"I'd love to but i can't pay, maybe we could meet at Burger King?"

"oh dear! I can pay for you it really isn't that much.." she insisted.

My mouth was wide open now.. it was like 100 dollars per meal! This got me angry, she could afford to spend money on her possible cleaning lady and i can't even buy a full meal everynight.

"um sure.. thank you.– I'll see you tomorrow"

"good bye, by the way, meet me there at 7pm sharp.  I wont wait very if you're late" and with that she hung up the phone.

I almost dropped my pathetic flip phone on the floor, i was still shocked.

"Steph, everything okay?" my mom asked

"um yeah, someone just called about a maid position."

"Ok" she yawned "ok–" but she fell asleep before i could respond.

I walked to Jackie's house slowly, still a little  shocked that someone actually called me.  God, this was more exciting than The Walking Dead marathon on the hospital TV.

Jackie greeted me before i could even walk through the door.

"where have you been, We were worried si–" i cut her off

"I'm fine, honestly, i just had to tell my mom something important about um school."  I decided not to tell her about the maid job because I knew that Jackie and her mom would tell me not to go.  But, I need this. Like if I don't get a better job soon, I might as well just kill my mom.  That's what I would be doing, literally.

"Hi Stephanie"

"Hi Mrs. Monroe.  Sorry i'm late just got held up in the hospital."

"No worries, Are you hungry?"

"No thank you. I think i'm just tired."

I walked past them to my not permanent room.  I sighed as i walked through the doors.  I had white walls and I had a little desk in the corner to do homework on.  A bed was placed up against the wall, in the middle of the room.  There was some drawers and a closet, but i didn't have a ton of closes to most of the drawers were empty.

I put on some sweat pants, and climbed into bed.  I sat in bed and thought about different things, until i let fatigue warm over me,

beep

beep

beep

I let out a groan.  I was not a morning person

"fucking piece of shit." i mumbled as i got out of bed and slapped the alarm clock. I decided to try and look extra nice today and put on my best outfit.  It was a little white top and some black skinny jeans.  I put on a checked red and black flannel, that literally cost me 89¢.  Most of my clothes came from thrift stores.  Very rarely did i ever go to the mall and pick out a decent outfit.
