'You did what?!" Jackie screamed in my ear
"It wasn't on purpose.. he was there.. and then there was paint." i sighed
"oh my god.. He was in my science class. Looks like all the boys want to know him. Practically all the girls drool over him" she rolled her eyes.
"so you're basically saying my social life is over" its not like I had one anyway.
"No, well maybe. But i think you should apoligize"
I cringed at the idea. Okay.. i may of dumped half a can of paint on a really attractive guy, who was probably popular, but it wasn't totally my fault. I mean he kinda snuck up behind me.
"Me, Apolize" i pointed to myself. "No way in hell, nobody knows who i am now and if he sees my face again, i will be on channel 4 news" i laughed
"Whatever.. you're gonna be late for work Steph. I'l catch you later." she sounded annoyed, which only made me smile even more.
"Bye" she screamed as she walked away and took Luke's hand.
I walked to Starbucks, suddenly getting nervous about the job interview. Was i under-dressed? Would Mrs. Winchester like me? This was way to frustrating.
At five o'clock, I left starbcuks and decided to borrow one of Jackie's dresses. Le Bernardin was quite fancy, not that i've ever been there, but i've seen the way people look when they go in there.
"Hi, is Mrs. Winchester here?" I asked the woman standing at the counter.
'Yes right this way miss."
Miss? Oh my god. I've never been called miss before. Holy crap
Mrs. Winchester, this is-"
"Stephanie" i smiled.
"oh yes! Stephanie. Please sit!"
I sat down hoping that I look somewhat proper in Jackie's dress.
"So, Stephanie is it? Nice meeting you. I have a few questions if like to ask you if that's okay."
"That's fine" I smiled even though my stomach felt like a zoo wanting to be released
"have you ever been a maid before?"
"Well, I've worked in many restaurants before, and I've cleaned those, and I usually clean the hospital for some extra money." I tried to sound positive.
"Why the hospital? And why are you so young?"
"My mother, she's not doing too well and she can't work, so i take the responsibility of earning the money."
"Oh I'm sorry" she said sympathetically
"It's okay. That's why I need a semi- or a permanent job."
"Well I would love to have you work for us! But some cleaning ladies don't uh.. Enjoy what we make them do.." She trailed off a bit
"You would have wear a uniform, like an actual maid uniform. My family can we very demanding at times, so you may have to run back and forth from place to place. You wouldn't only be cleaning, but you'd also be serving."
I nodded. "I'm okay with that."
"Also any experience with cooking?" She asked. I was going to have to lie on this one.
"Yes! I love to cook" no I don't. But if it got me the job, than I would be a freaking papa johns. He's a chef right?
"Also you know you would live in our guest bedroom in the basement if that's okay!" She sounded like she just drank 8 cups of coffee.
