His skin was crawling with the energy of the stars.
It's blood. The water dripped from his body, the star a lot brighter and more intense than before. He could see the water, and it was a dark red.
It has to be. His hands cupped the water, as he brought them up to his face. The same fluid that he had used to sustain himself in these years turned out to be the life of those before him. He couldn't taste or smell the metallic flavor of the blood before, but now his mind seemed to be trying to explain the trauma that it was going through by making him taste, and smell, the horrible flavor of iron.
His withered, charred hands trembled as he brought the blood to his lips, drinking it slowly. He couldn't stand still ever since the star had done that unexplainable thing. It was as if his body was radiating with the energy that the star emitted, but he didn't know how to use it, or if it was just his body playing tricks.
Soon, I'll find a way out of here. And you're going to pay, Father. His eyes scanned the bodies that floated towards the beyond, he hadn't seen his father's body pass at all. That meant he was still alive, and making people suffer.
A sharp pain stung his neck, like a needle. He winced, bringing his hand to where the pain was coming from. It was coming from his scar, or where it used to be. If it existed at all. But that was the first time in a long time he had felt pain like that, which was odd considering the fact he had been here for a long time.
Has it been a year? He remembered that he had been counting, but the amount of time seemed to slip his mind. He could not remember what he had counted to. He could not remember much of anything now that he thought about it. Except for his deepest, darkest desires that he's had for what felt like over a decade- to kill the one who put him in this place.
"I will find a way out of here, Father."

What do I do? Rose was stuck in this situation, without knowledge of what to do next. Jake, Danielle, Diego, and Peter had all been found.
I should have been the first one to be found. I'm the least useful for this mission. Jake had not mentioned that Rose was a blackspawn to the others, only that her earth magic was very finicky and unpredictable. Which was not incorrect. He had also told them of her other magic.
The elemental's attention was directed towards Peter because it was curious as to why it couldn't sense him. That means it didn't know where Rose was. How horribly ironic that she was the only useless one, that also happened to be one of two that were immune to it.
Her eyes shot sideways to look at the people. Right now, Misbusu's frills were down, but the group of students, teachers, and agents seemed to all be stuck in that state of suspended animation. The only ones who could save them were the ones about to die.
And I'm useless. She choked back a sob as she stayed in her hiding spot, watching the monster circle around Peter. Her head throbbed, her heart conflicted.
I wish Jake was next to me. She continued watching Misbusu until something jolted her out of her spell of fear. Danielle's hands were whirling, water slowly flowing between them from the clouds above. But she didn't have enough water.
The water fountains. They were designed to be immune to kids just sucking water out of them, but Rose could do something about that. Her feet started moving and without thinking, she ran into the open.
