Our boys were about 8 and 11 years old. They were playing in their room. I was putting towels away in the hallway closet and heard them talking about my and my wife's future care when we got old (which is, now, not far in the future)
So, who's going to get mom and who's going to get dad when they get old?
I'll take dad.
Well I want dad.
So, how are we going to settle this?

How about this? Whoever has the best life gets mom. Whoever has the suckiest life gets dad.
That sounds fair, because it wouldn't be fair to have a sucky life and get stuck with mom.
