Alive or Dead

Chapter-1

It was a perfect day, the sun was shining, the weather was awesome and one could hear children playing outside. I had my breakfast, took shower and thought of spending the day outside. I called some of my friends, Lila agreed to spend the day with me. We decided to meet up at my house first.

At 11 o' clock she arrived. We decided to go to the movies first, horror of course. I love horror movies, so do Lila. On our way to the theatre we saw some people were acting kinda strange, they seemed confused. We were so excited about spending the day together that we didn't take much importance on confused people. The theatre was 1 hour away from my house and we had so much fun on our way.

The movie was at 12:30pm but we arrived a little late. The things got weirder when we went inside. No one was there, not a single soul was to be seen. We headed towards the theatre but it was locked. Everything there felt so strange, the air seemed heavy with something I couldn't describe. Staying there was a bad idea, I thought to myself. We're so disappointed that we returned and decided to watch movie at home.

On our way home we hardly saw anyone. The night went smoothly, we watched movies, had so much fun.

The next day was like any other day except for the fact that everything seemed so quiet. It was like there were no people present. But that place always stayed crowded. We woke up late as we stayed up all night. By the time Lila woke up I was making tea, I love tea.

"Want some?" I asked.

"Yeah, tea is what I need right now. My head is going nuts, I don't know why," she said, eyes half-opened, "Why is everything so quiet?"

"I don't know. This place stays crowded even at night, isn't it odd?"

"Yeah, it's like nobody is around."

Just then the door bell rang. I looked at Lila, she was busy switching channels on TV.

"I'll get the door." I said as I turned off the stove. When I opened the door there was no one outside. "Ugh, these kids," I said to myself, closed the door and came back. The moment I closed the door there was a loud thud on the door. The thud was so loud that it made me and Lila, in the living room, jump.

"Hey, there is something going on. The news says-" Lila was cut off by my scream.

I looked through the peephole, what I saw was unthinkable.
