I watched as my underclassmen were following my instructions, some to the letter, others needing a bit of help. That was until I saw a familiar figure. It was Sarin Okami, who was now a graduate and alumni. "Sarin-senpai?" "Rizona-kun? English? C'mere!" I ran to him and gave him a hug, I wasn't as close to him as Saizo or Dante, but he was a friend, somewhat. "Damn, you've definitely gotten taller and I can see more muscle. You hit another growth spurt?" His question made me laugh, before I notice that I have gotten a bit taller. "Ehhh, something like that. How's life treating you?" "Haven't gotten to that stage yet, currently in College. For technology, art, and law. Saizo's got one more year with you guys as well, right? Tell him and Dante I said hello... Also, my sister sends her regards. She's currently in the hospital after an accident, but she'll heal. Anyways, I've gotta get going, I'm not a student anymore so where I am and ain't allowed to go is kinda black and white, now. Have fun with the festival."
After Sarin said that and walked off, I saw the progression that was made for setting the place up for the festival, I helped a few students with setting up finish lines, banners, and more decoration and booths. "Hey, Rizona-senpai, what about the bleachers?" "Leave 'em! Headmaster said the maintenance team'll do it because he doesn't want us getting hurt, but that's all. Good work guys and hope to see you all there!" I said that and started to walk to the Academy to get to the club room. That was until I felt like I was being followed. I decided stop in place and my sword flew to me and landed in my hand. "Whoever's trying to play hide and seek, I don't take kindly to it... Do us both a favor and come on out." Admittedly, I was nervous, this wasn't Mizore, I'd know if it were her, and plus, she'd be stalking Tsukune, rather than myself. My reflexes getting me to dodge before slicing twice to hit something metallic, but also very invisible.
"Ahh, I see... An invisible assailant." I stood still and when I sensed danger from my left, I moved right and went for another slash, to see that I got the creature to it revealed itself, I stomped on it's head and cut what almost resembled a scorpion stinger off of it's body. "I don't think this is one of Mikogami-sensei's pets... You should take the corpse to him. Maybe he could tell us something." As Anozir said that, I agree with how good of an idea it was. I ran through the school until I got to the door of the headmaster's office and I knocked. "Enter." I had heard his command and that was all I needed. "Do you have a moment, 'cause if I'm not interrupting, we need to talk... Also, hi Ruby." Ruby waved and the headmaster smiled before allowing me to seat myself. "I take it that this creature's corpse is your source of concern?" Mikogami's question was met with a swift nod. "Hai. (Yes.) I bumped into it after helping the underclassmen set up the festival, it was trying to fight me while it was invisible. The creatures of paradise wouldn't be able to just run out like that, right?" "This isn't a creature of the paradise realm. It's an assassin's bug, a Mantello, sent by Fairy Tale. This one however, is different... Most of them have a red stinger, this one's stinger is blue... It might have been going for a kidnapping." Mikogami's explanation made me worried before it made a bit more sense to me.
"Mantello" means cloak, in Italian. That explains the invisibility, but why would someone equip it with tranquilizer, instead of venom? Who was the intended target? "I'm willing to look into this-" "No, today is supposed to be a day of peace. I don't want you to let that lower your morale. That goes for you too, Ruby-chan. I want you both to focus on the Carnival, besides, Rizona-kun, you were elected as one of the representatives of your class. You should save your energy for the events ahead of you. And before you try to cut me off, I know the risk, but I don't want you to get hung up over it, Fairy Tale aren't that spineless or stupid enough, to send all of their bugs." Mikogami said that and I could only nod. "Good, you can go to your clubroom now."
