What was that? I rubbed my throat.

Nothing.

I got up and dressed into a baby blue dress with a scoop top and ruffled sleeves that were outlines with white; the same went for the bottom. After that walked into the kitchen and observed the counters.

It looked like my mother was making pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hash browns for breakfast.

"Mornin', Mom." I gave her a quick hug before grabbing the package of bacon and a knife to open it. "How many, this fine morning?"

She smiled and raised a brow. "You're awfully cheery this morning, El. Scrambled is fine."

I nodded before started the stove and tearing open the package.

There were a couple of minutes of silence as we cooked until I spoke. "I had a strange dream last night."

"Oh? What was it?" She asked intrigued, flipping a pancake.

I shrugged as I took the spatula and flipped them onto the plate she had set beforehand for herself with a napkin on top. "There was this girl, I think her name was Lidia...Layna..." I drawled. "Layla! That was the name. There was this girl named Layla and she was a vampire, and Gavin..." I trailed off. Maybe I shouldn't mention the fact that he charged at me. That he almost had me killed. Did have me killed. "He was one, too, except his name was Keaton. Owen was a mortal, as Gavin called him. It was weird." I chuckled lightly. "But it didn't mean anything. I just thought it was a bit odd that I had a dream about some girl being a vampire."

She frowned. "That is a strange dream."

I shrugged. "Yeah, anyway, where's Gavi-"

My twin brother walked into the room and gave me a nuggie which made me drop the fork into the pan as I was putting the bacon on the glass plate. "Mornin', guys."

"Never mind," I muttered before elbowing him in the stomach and turning off the stove to grab the fork. "Look what you made me do, Gav?"

He grinned mischievously like his stomach didn't hurt and plopped down on the couch to watch the news in the living room. "Not my fault. You're the one with butterfingers; not me."

I growled, questioning whether or not I should go and toss a pillow at his face while grabbing the fork quickly and tossing it under some cold water in the sink.

"I hate you, Gavin; you know that?" I walked back over to the pan and continued to cook the bacon.

"Well aware, yes," He said nonchalantly. "Now shut up so I can listen to this. This is priceless."

I heard him laugh which caught my attention and a decided to walk over and see for myself.

"A vampire, ladies, and gentleman," The newswoman joked while standing a good distance away front the commotion behind her. "Now that's something I would like to see."

"What is this?" I asked as I sat down in the recliner.

Gavin smirked and tossed his arm over the top of the couch while leaning back to get comfortable. "Some idiot thinks he saw a vampire." He pointed at the man struggling in the police men's arm.

He looked to have grey hair and messy clothes like he had just come out of the woods.

I chortled. "That's a little superstitious for news, don't you think?"

"Shh!" He snapped at me.

I rolled my eyes and watched the television.

"This is serious!" The crazy man said in the live footage. "They're out there! I swear to you!" He shoved his arms off a policeman as he looked at the camera and charged at the newswoman at an alarming speed that wasn't normal. "You have to believe me-"
