Seth woke up very warm and scared. The sheets were a little bit burned, and he was nearly glowing. He had the nightmares again. The ones that he always had. Always the same, and always frightening.
It was 5 o'clock in the morning, and his room was dark and warm. He opened the window and the sun lit up the room.
There was no point in going back to sleep, so he stood up and stretched his arms.
As he went to the shower he enjoyed the silence of the house. His parents and brother were still asleep. The bathroom was cold, and the sun came through the window to warm it up. In the mirror he barely saw his sleepy face under his thick brown hair.
He pushed his hair away and looked at his weird, fire-looking eyes. They looked like they were burning, but he had no idea why.
Both his parents had blue eyes and he barely looked like them. Sometimes he thought he mabye was adopted. After he showered he went downstairs to eat breakfast.
He was all alone with his thoughts, and thought about the nightmares. It was always the same one:
"He was stuck in a glass cage, and couldn't break it. All he could do was watch his best friend Lily being dragged away by dark creatures and screaming for help.
He broke out of the cage, but it was always too late. After that he could see her. Sitting in a corner of a dark room crying.
Her blonde hair was filthy and tangeled, and her face was full of dirt. Her clothes were ripped and scratched, and her sapphire blue eyes were shining in a cold light as she whispered:
"Help me Seth"
And then she faded"
He never told Lily about the dream. He trusted her, but didn't tell her.He heard noises upstairs as his parents woke up.
His mom came down the stairs and looked suprised when she saw Seth.
"Are you up already?"
"Yeah, I woke up an hour ago..."
His mom started making coffee with this suprised look on her face, like it was a miracle that he woke up early.
His dad did not look less suprised when he came down the stairs.Seth went upstairs to get dressed. There was still an hour left before the bus came, so he grabbed a book and started to read.
He had always been facinated by dragons and myths and that kind of stuff, and the only one he shared that interest with was Lily.An hour passed by quickly, and he walked down the stairs. He said goodbye as he left the house, and walked towards the bus-stop.
In the bus he met Lily, as always and they started talking about books and dragons. But as they drove past the landscape Seth could swear he saw a gigantic creature fly over the mountains, and straight towards the bus.
