Bunny's pale ginger fur reflected the morning light, a soft drizzle of rain littered her dirty pelt with droplets. she felt her stomach rumble, a pain in her stomach and throat, still so unfamiliar. The taste of fish in the air led her here. boats were just leaving for a morning fish, fishers and tourists crowded the docks. The small molly stayed where she was hiding, under an elevated building, she shrunk into the shadows to get away from the rain.
Bunny was back in her home, her owners petting her intently as she slept on the windowsill, golden light warming her pelt. Suddenly, thunder cracked, the world turned dark as she was thrown from the house and not allowed back in.
She woke up and gasped, feeling mud stick to her fur. Water had pooled around where she slept and she was now soaked to the bone. It was sunny now. midday. She crawled out from her hiding place and shook her fur. She pricked her long ears and looked around at the bustling city harbour. She spotted something, she had to blink twice before she believed it. A pure white cat was sitting several cat-lengths away, meowing at tourists for food. She looked like a dandelion puff- pure and fluffy- Bunny watched as the pure white molly was given a small mackerel by a passing fisherman. She found herself drooling. Bunny flexed her claws as she followed the other cat. She had to get that fish, the pain in her belly she had gotten used to, but she knew if she didn't eat soon she could starve. The white molly turned a corner and Bunny hid behind a box. She was just about to pounce when a bulky brown tomcat jumped down in front of the fluffy dandelion cat, causing her to drop her fish. Her fluffy tail was puffed up to twice its size and her back arched as she let out a threatening hiss. She looked even more like a dandelion now! three more scarred cats of varying sizes jumped down. 'Lion, you've avoided us for too long. Why don't you join us? we could use such a pretty molly,' he meowed, a sneering smirk on his face. He got real close to the white molly he called "lion", ignoring the fish completely. This was Bunny's chance! She dashed forward, heading for the fish. she was almost upon it when all three other cats jumped on her, holding her to the ground. claws pricked into the skin on her back and head, forced to breathe in the dirt and dust on the floor. she coughed and spat as she struggled, claws digging deeper. she looked up at the bulky brown tom who glared at her.
'Kill i-'
Lion yowled, piercing the air with the sound and cutting off whatever the ring leader was going to say. She pounced on the bulky brown tom. Bunny felt her captors hesitate, unsure whether to help their leader or not. But they rushed towards him. Bunny got up just in time to see blood spurt from the brown tom's throat. Lion sprinted towards Bunny and she caught a glimpse of her pale blue eyes, her pupils only reflecting red light. She turned to run as fast as she could, scared she would be killed just like the tom. Then she realised the dandelion puff of a cat was beside her, keeping pace.
'this way!' she yelled as she nudged Bunny to the left. Bunny happily obliged, ignoring the screaming pain throughout her body.
