Bunny followed as Lion led her through the streets. She looked around in awe at the tall buildings. She had never been out this way before, or anywhere even remotely far from... Home. The streets were busy, Bunny almost got stepped on by a human twice, Lion had snapped at her complacency. They were keeping away from dark alleyways, just in case. Bunny lost track of Lion's fluffy tail for a second but saw it rounding a corner and picked up her pace to catch up only to run into her around the corner. Lion's fluffy tail brushed Bunny's muzzle, Lion looking over her shoulder.
'Stop messing around, this cat we're meeting is a very serious sort. And, he doesn't trust domestics like you... Just, let me do the talking? He works for the cat who can help us,' Lion explained, looking back in front of her and continuing to walk along the wall of the building until she finds a crack in the wall she could slink into. Bunny watched as she disappeared through a hole half her size- all that fluff was just hiding a regular-sized cat. Bunny was much smaller, she followed Lion into the basement of the building, the light shone down into a room of concrete. Bunny waited for her eyes to adjust to the darkness and jumped down the pile of assorted cardboard and tin boxes that led to the ground. Lion was waiting in the centre of the room for Bunny. Lion smiled reassuringly at Bunny and then looked to another pile of boxes.
'Come on Lemur, this is my friend Bunny- she's perfectly harmless,' she meowed. Bunny thought she was crazy until a very long, skinny tom slinked out of the box and stalked over, his nose twitching and his piercing yellow eyes focused on Bunny. She shifted under his gaze.
'What happened to your tail?' he asked, his long tail swaying slowly.
'I was- um, born like this?' Bunny replied, looking at Lemur and then at Lion, who smiled almost apologetically.
Lemur appeared to be suspicious, his eyes narrowed and one brow raised. His eyes shifted to Lion and he stood up straight. 'You need to meet Forrest for something then?'
'We need their help,' Lion explained, her head and tail were lower than usual, Bunny noticed.
'Tch,' Lemur scoffed, 'classic Lione, always getting into trouble- I know you killed the claw leader! I always keep an ear to the ground you know and it's not like THE most notorious alley cat gets murdered!'
Bunny studied his face- he looked more concerned than angry.
'Would it help to say it was self-defence?' Lion meowed. Lemur sighed, shaking his head and walking in a semi-circle before looking back at Lion.
'I'll organise something, you know Forrest doesn't like to deal with this shit anymore,' Lemur meowed.
Lion nodded and Lemur left- blocking the light for a moment.
'So who's this Forrest character?' Bunny asked, 'also, what are they gonna do to help us?'
Lion growled and Bunny jumped back, her ears pressed against her head. 'Sorry, sorry, just...'
Bunny watched warily as Lion walked a few paces away, frustrated. Her tail-tip was twitching.
