Lotus's POV

"She's waking up doctor."

Everything sounds as if it's under water. Am I under water? No. There definitely wouldn't be people talking under water. Would there?

"Make sure her IV Is still okay."

I recognize the mans voice.

I'm at the hospital.

I open my eyes. Suddenly over powered by the awful feeling in my stomach. I tilt my head down to see my hand is in a cast. Why a cast? Did I break something?

"The stitches are under it."

I snap out of my thoughts and look to the familiar young face in front of me. I recognize the doctor now as the man who was nervous when I first came in. He's handsome, just as I remember.

"Your stomach hurt at all?" He asks, walking over to my side where the injury is.

I nod, not wanting to test my voice. He writes something down on his clipboard and walks over to the nurse. He whispers something to her and she nods, her eyes digging into my skin. Do they think I can't see them?

"You know, I may be a little bit out of it but I'm not blind." I say, trying to make my voice sound as clear as I can. The nurse and doctor smile at me as the nurse leaves the room.

"Now Lottie..."

"Don't call me that." I snap at him through my clenched jaw. He nods a little and then proceeds with what he was going to say.

"How are you feeling?"

What an awful question to ask me. I want to laugh. Then I remember, I have to tell him. This is my way out.

"You have to get me out of here, that man is not really my husband I promise you." I feel tears brim my eyes as I try to explain what has been happening to me. "That man kidnapped me, from a concert! I fell asleep behind a curtain thing and then him and this other guy took me into a van and made me deal drugs! And, and then they hurt me. They did this to me. Well, it was the other guy that stabbed me, but he, that guy out there did this too!" I'm practically yelling now, holding my side as the man nods slowly.

"Is that all you're going to do? Sit there and nod at me?! Call the police!" I scream at him now, his eyes suddenly squinting at me.

"The man out there did not say that ma'am. I was told that you fell, and had some serious injuries during that fall."

My mouth falls open. Is this a fucking joke?

"Are you kidding me? Do you really think I could get these injuries from falling?! Falling!?" I laugh at him, "some doctor you are."

"You didn't let me finish what I was going to say." He looks around the room, as if the walls have eyes.

"I know those are stab wounds."

It feels as if the whole world has been lifted off of my shoulders. This is it. I'm finally leaving. I can leave. I see the smile form on his lips as I feel the smile on mine. I can't remember the last time I felt this happy.

"He told me that you have some type of disease that makes you crazy, I didn't believe him for a second. But, to get the trust from him to take you, I had to act as if I did, and I still do. Right now he is out in the waiting room on a phone call, I don't know how we're going to do this. I am the only one that knows right now so I think we're safe."

I nod, not able to find any words for the feeling deep inside of me right now.

"I'm going to get you into that wheel chair right there, okay?" The doctor points to the corner of the room where a wheelchair sits. He gets up and walks over to it, pushing it so it's right next to the bed.

"On the count of three. One...two...three..." He lifts me up and I bite my lip, the pain shooting from my side is excruciating. But even that won't hold back the smile tugging at my lips.

I'm leaving.

I'm going to be free.

"Let's do this."
