Roman groaned as he was shaken awake. After being briefly informed of his plans for that day, the servant finally exited the room to let him change his clothes and get ready. He sighed to himself, not wanting to face another group of disappointing suitresses. He knew it wouldn't work out, but he slipped on his usual attire and combed through his hair anyways.
He jumped as Remus burst into his room loudly, falling onto the ground and bursting into a fit of giggles. He just rolled his eyes and continued fussing with his hair.
"Hey Romannnnnn!" he drew out, obviously bored.
"Hi. Have you seen the new group today?"
"The suitresses? Yeah. None look that special to me."
"Great," he replied, his tone dripping in sarcasm.
As he descended down the stairs to meet the ladies, he immediately knew he was going to have a rough day. After hours of talking one-on-one with each woman, only the final one struck his interest. She was kind and intelligent, with the same sense of humor as him. He was beginning to get hopeful.
"Oh my god, I know right?? His writing is genius!" he exclaimed.
"I totally agree! I just don't know why he had to throw in so many gay characters. It's so gross."
"You know my brother's gay, right?"
"Bless his soul, he just hasn't found the right woman yet. I can't believe he's so far astray."
"He's gay. He's not attracted to women." Roman added, disgust boiling in his stomach.
"Oh he's just confused. No wonder he's never been the favorite son, something's not right upstairs - if you know what I mean."
"Well if you're going to continue to be a dick to my best friend and brother, I see no reason to continue this conversation. Good day, ma'am," he said, standing up and walking back to his room.
Welp, he was hopeless. He's never going to find a wife.
Recounting the story to his brother and his brother-in-law with unspoken rage, Remus and Logan looked pissed once Roman was done speaking. Remus didn't say much, but Roman could tell Logan was even angrier than Remus. They were talking about his fiance, after all.
"I don't care, she's not saying anything new." Remus decided, pulling Logan into his lap on Roman's bed.
"Well, I care. That's my fiance she's talking about." Logan huffed, obviously still disturbed.
"I'm sorry darling. Maybe I can get her information from Mom and you can have a discussion with her on her manners?"
Logan nodded his head and looked up at Roman. "I wish I could have a relationship like you guys. I think I'm just going to be single forever."
Remus laughed and suggested they all get some fresh air once more. Roman shrugged and decided another night out wouldn't be so bad, so he took his brother's hand and started off for the village again, hoping to see Virgil and ask about his visit some more.
