Shinso had been kicking himself for asking Evangeline to stay the night. He took a leap of faith by doing so. He knew that it was very forward of him, but he was serious that night. Something about Evangeline makes him want to be closer to her. Although, it worked out for the best because Evangeline had to work. A few days have passed since both his schedule and hers have been clashing. It had been hard to find a day to arrange for that date he promised her. It was a bit disappointing but he understood.
At least Shinso would be better prepared if she ever chose to stay over.
Shinso walked around the corner with a groan as he rubbed his aching shoulders. He adjusted his scarf around his neck and let out a sigh. Patrols have been quiet for the last few days but he wasn't complaining. Relaxing work was better than running around trying to capture someone. It was a small break from usual work or paperwork.
God, did Shinso hate paperwork.
Ding.
He felt the phone vibrate in his pocket and pulled it out. He put in his password to unlock his phone before going into his messages. There was one from Evangeline and he smiled underneath his mask. Even though their schedules have been horrid, Evangeline would leave cute messages for Shinso. It always made his day just to hear from her. He had grown used to her cute emojis and encouragement.

Shinso smiled down at his phone and started to type out a message.
Shinso:
Are you working tonight?
Babygirl❤️:
I just got off for the day.
I took an early shift.
Shinso:
How was your shift?
No problems, I hope.
Babygirl❤️:
Nothing too bad.
Can I call you when you have time?
I just have a few questions.
He stared at her message before looking back at Denki.
Questions?
"Do you mind if I make a quick phone call?" Shinso asked through his mask.
Denki raised an eyebrow. "Is it a girl?"
"Go ahead. We'll be here." Izuku nodded.
Shinso undid the sides of his mask before turning the corner. He rested his back against a wall before dialing Evangeline's number. He cleared his throat and adjusted his Bluetooth ear pierce. It rang a few times before Evangeline answered.
"Talk to me, baby girl," he answered with a smirk. "It's everything alight?"
"Yes! I'm sorry if I scared you. I didn't expect you to call so soon!" she let out a soft laugh.
"I had a moment to myself on patrol. Plus, I haven't heard your voice in a while. Do you need something, sweetheart?" he smiled to himself.
"I'm sorry. Work has been crazy the last few weeks. I've been picking up more hours because a coworker quit. It's just been John and I."
