Hannah woke up to the sun shining through the skylight above her head, blinding her. Groaning, she lay in bed with an arm wrapped over her eyes for 10 minutes before she hopped out of bed. When she went to turn the lights on nothing happened, she flicked the switch a few more times before giving up. Groaning in annoyance at completely forgetting about the hurricane. She checked her phone to see SOS and threw it on the bed. "No power and no service, great." She muttered before getting ready. I put on a burnt orange bikini with a brown flannel on top, black shorts and white slip-on shoes.
I took a deep breath and slid open the glass door. Tree branches, leaves and other scrapes littered the ground, roof, and pool. The gardeners were tending to the roses, pool cleaners cleaned the pool, and electricians fixed the power while cleaners worked on the rubbish. Hannah walked into the house and saw Emmet eating cereal, Sam playing with some stuffed toys and Theo was nowhere to be seen.
She grabbed the orange juice from the fridge and drank it straight from the bottle, ignoring the groan of disgust from Emmet as she did so. After cutting herself a slice of bread she buttered it and walked into the foyer where Josh was talking to Lana Grubbs. "I haven't seen Scooter since yesterday, I'm sure we'll find him soon though," He said comforting Ms Grubbs as she held a very distressed look on her face. "Good morning Dad, Ms Grubbs," Hannah greeted giving her a slight nod. "Is everything alright?" she asked with slight concern, "Everything is just fine sweety, Scooter just didn't come home yesterday, do you have any idea where he could be?"
"Uh, no sorry, but I remember Sarah saying how Scooter and she were going to prep The Druthers for the storm," She said holding onto Lana's hands as she gave her a somewhat hopeful look. "That's great news! Are you able to take her to the Cameron's house for me Han? I would myself but I have to sort out everything here." Hannah nodded smiling, letting go of her hands when the lights started to flicker before turning on. "Let there be light!" Hannah joked before leading Ms Grubbs outside. After a silent walk to Sarah's house, they arrived to be greeted by dozens of people picking up branches from trees and other things that had fallen over during the storm.
"Hannah? What are you doing here?" Ward asked walking up to her. "Hey Ward, this is Lana Grubbs, Scooter's wife, he didn't come home last night. Sarah was with him last night right?" She informed him with her hand resting on Lana's arm gently. "Good morning Ms Grubbs, yes I believe Sarah was the last person to see him. I'll take you to her now." He said giving Hannah's shoulder a light squeeze before leading Lana inside the mansion. "I hope you find your husband soon Lana!" She called waving to her. Lana waved slightly back, smiling gratefully before following Ward.
Hannah sighed, raking a hand through her thick long hair unsure of what to do next. After a moment of thought, she decided to go to Fallon's house which was just down the block. Eight minutes later she arrived at her house which was in a very similar condition to Sarah and her own house. Hannah walked through the house, saying a quick hello to her Aunt and Uncle, and walked through the backyard to see Fallon on a beach chair with a ridiculously large sun hat, outrageous sunglasses, and in a pastel pink bikini.
"What in the actual fuck are you wearing?" Hannah exclaimed taking the straw hat off of her and putting it on her head, posing as if she were in a photoshoot. The blonde yelped in shock before snatching the hat back and putting it on. "It's a designer hat from France thank you very much," She explained, her chin high in the air. Hannah rolled her eyes at her cousin and sat down on the sun chair beside her looking up at the orange sky.
It was a pretty chill day from then on, Fallon and Hannah had a dip in the pool once it was clean. Robin came over a few hours later and they all went out shopping. Fallon picked up her dress for Midsummer's from the post office, apparently, it was custom-made in Spain. Robin bought a new surfboard and and Hannah bought a new bikini set. At about 2:30 everyone decided to split up. Fal and Robin went home, taking all the shopping with them while she went on a walk. They all agreed to meet up at about five so Hannah decided to collect her things then. After walking for around thirty minutes she found herself in The Cut without realizing it.
Shrugging her shoulder she decided to keep on walking when she noticed police cars and ambulances parked on the street. Her curiosity getting the best of her she decided to walk down to see what all the commotion was about. But when she saw Lana sobbing over a dead man's body Hannah felt her lunch start to come up so she ran to the edge of the dock to puke. She had never seen a dead body before, besides on tv. Thankfully no one saw her as they were too busy looking at Scooter's dead body and taking photos of it and groaned at people's ignorance.
Hannah walked down the dock to Lana and pulled her into a comforting hug as she sobbed into her arms. "I'm so sorry Lana," She said rubbing comforting circles on her back. She heard some people whispering, wondering why she was on pogue land but ignored them. Her priority focused on Lana. After a few minutes, Lana calmed herself down and went with the police. When Hannah turned around her eyes caught with a familiar baby blue eyes. JJ watched as Hannah followed a police man into a car who would her to Fallon's house. He watched curiously as to why she was on pogue land.
When she got back she told them everything that happened, Fallon gave her a hot chocolate and they played a few games of Uno to get her mind off of what happened. They all decided to go to Sarah's house to hang out with her but ran into Rafe on the way to her room. "Hey beautiful," Rafe said flirtatiously towards Fallon, Hannah internally gaged while Fallon smiled back flirtatiously, "Have you seen Sarah?" Hannah interrupted, stopping anything more from happening. "Yeah, the princess is in her room." She gave him a small nod before running up the stairs, tugging Fallon behind her who waved goodbye to the Cameron.
"God he's annoying," Robin said rolling his eyes. Hannah nodded in agreement. "He may be annoying but you can't deny he is damn good-looking," Fallon said with a dreamy look in her eyes. "Oh god no Fal, you're too good for him!" Hannah exclaimed, "I know," She sighed, almost as if she were sad.
Once they made it to Sarah's room she opened the door smiling at the sight of them. They didn't do much, just enjoyed each other's company and sat in a small circle facing each other's backs that went from Fallon, Sarah, Hannah and Robin at the front as they did each others hair. Hannah did multiple tiny plaits on Robin's hair and stuck ribbons and colourful hair clips in his dark ebony locks. After 20 minutes Topper and his mates came over and stared at the hair-dressing train in confusion but decided not to comment. "Heard there's a Kegger at the Boneyard, wanna go?" Topper asked Sarah.
When she nodded Fallon kindly invited herself to go as well as Robin so reluctantly Hannah agreed to come as well. They all decided to leave in 10 minutes leaving them enough time to get ready when Hannah realised then that JJ would be there. It's going to be awkward seeing him again. Just thinking about seeing him again gave her nostalgia and energy but quickly shook that feeling off.
