We sit silently in the car, me smiling like a weirdo, Andy driving, and Green Eyes looking out the window. The car smells amazing, like dryer sheets and clay disks. Mine smells like my sister's perfume.
"I never got to properly introduce myself, it's Caius West [kai-yes]!" Caius extends his hand, glancing my way.
"Elizabeth Petrakis." I smile, cocking my head to the side. "Nice to meet you, Green Eyes!"
"Green Eyes?" He topics, the one side of his mouth tugging upwards.
I nod. "It's better than Case, no offense though."
"It's Caius, and none taken," he smirks and even his smirk makes my smile grow. "You seem to be giving me a nickname and we are just starting to be friends."
"Friends?"
"Or what, acquaintances?"
"Seems more adequate," I shrug, hoisting a brow. "Or not?"
"I think friends suit us more," he restrains his eyes playfully and I giggle.
"Then why not?"
Caius raises his brow, his eyes scrutinizing my expression. "How old are you?"
"Why do you want to know?" My eyes narrow down into him and I fight back a smile.
"I just want to know. You look at least twenty-three or twenty-four."
"Twenty-three," I confirm. "And you're twenty-nine?"
"Do I look that old?" He asks in mock hurt, holding a hand over his heart.
I giggle. "Of course not, though I really think you could use-"
"Please don't insult me!" He groans.
"I wasn't going to, I was just going to. . . You know. . . Suggest." I shrug, my eyes are broad.
"I'm twenty-seven."
Soon the car comes to a halt and I look out the window to see an unfamiliar building, very tall. The building galloped up to the mists and they had entire floors devoted to playing.
Oh, how I would have cared for being here when I was younger.
"Um, this is not where May lives," I say, my brows furrowing as I stare up at the tall building. "I think you got the wrong-"
"Why are we here, Andy?" Green Eyes asks his forehead setting into a deep frown.
"Your father demanded we arrive right now, sir," Andy answers, uncomfortably veering around in his seat. "I can take the girl home if you'd like?"
Green Eyes shakes his head no, grimacing at Andy before getting out of the car. He offers his hand to me and I raise my brow. The rain doesn't stop and manages to get heavier. The hail is going to arrive very soon.
"Come inside with me. I'll have some of my sister's dry clothing set out for you. This car's windshield is not strong enough and you as well as Andy could get hurt." He clarifies, raising a brow in anticipation.
I really do not want to go inside there right now. First of all, we have no idea when this heavy rain will stop, and second, when the hail starts falling, we will have no idea when that will stop either. When will I get home?
My only possibility is to go inside, take Caius' offer, call my parents and May to let them know, and ensure them that I am okay. I won't hesitate to add to May that I am with a really hot guy. She would freak once she finds out.
I grab ahold of Caius' hand, completely ignoring how perfectly it fit with mine. It feels jagged yet very delicate at the same time. Quickly stepping out of the car, I run into the building with him. By the time we get to the huge glass doors, we are soaking wet.
