Ambrose plopped down onto the car seat and sighed. "What's up?" Cecilie asked happily.
"Ugh, yeah, don't even- It's not my day today, absolutely not."
"Oookayyy then," she said and grinned to herself as she started the engine and took off onto the road. They didn't talk on the drive to school since Cecilie did respect the fact that Ambrose wasn't in the mood for conversations.
Still, she didn't like seeing him like this and had something up her sleeve because suddenly, Ambrose could hear music blasting through the car which made him break his stare out the window and turn his head in Cecilie's direction. She had connected her Spotify to the car's speaker.
She slowly turned her head in his direction and snickered because of the expression on his face. He thought she was going crazy and his face showed exactly that. Because Miss Cecilie here had turned up the volume to the maximum causing the song 'Drag Me Down' by One Direction to ring through their ears, 'I got a river for a soul and baby, you're a boat, baby, you're my only reason'.
The longer the song played the more Ambrose's mood changed. He absolutely loved One Direction, almost adored them. So, obviously, his mood always lightened up whenever he heard their voices.
"All my life, you stood by me, when no one else was ever behind me. All these lights, they can't blind me, with your love, nobody can drag me down." They both energetically sang along with Liam Payne. The feeling in the car was immaculate, both yelling the lyrics and smiling like complete idiotically obsessed teens, knowing the lyrics by heart.
As Niall's solo came on, they both cheered for him imagining they were at a concert and had to support the Irish lad. They always thought he deserved more recognition.
The song got close to Harry's last three 'down's' and Ambrose prepared himself for those big notes because he, for sure, wanted to smash them. And he had the potential to. One might think he's one of those obsessed teens screaming out lyrics their idols had written and sounded horrible doing that. In fact though, he sounded great, his voice really was a special one and he'd sound beautiful if he tried to sing well. The part about the obsessed teen is nonetheless still true by the way. He just didn't sound horrible.
And he really hit the note, not only once but twice - other than Harry himself in Carpool Karaoke with James Corden - which gained him a look from Cecilie. The soft last 'down' was completely on point and Ambrose was immensely proud of himself.
"God, don't be such a show-off."
"Babe, I can't help that my voice is angelic and your singing is shit." He visually threw his non-existent long hair over his shoulder. While doing so, Cecilie turned a corner and drove onto the school parking lot and searched for a free spot.
"Sometimes I really wonder why I became friends with you," Cecilie said shaking her head and parked the car a good distance away from the entrance of their high school. They both undid their seatbelts and got out.
"Oh c'mon, Cec. You know you love me."
"Yeah, whatever." She rolled her eyes. "Don't flatter yourself now, that doesn't suit you," she jokingly slapped him on his arm.
"Yeah, of course, Cecilie. You just don't want to admit that I'm better than you."
"I hate you," she scoffed.
"Ah, yeah, I love you too, brownie," he said and pulled her close to press a kiss on her head.

History class turned out to be a disaster. Nothing in the meaning of something going wrong, no. It was just absolutely nerve-wracking because Roxanne decided to turn into one of those kids bragging about their knowledge and not letting others interrupt them. She was talking, Elise was writing it down and the others were supposed to read through the chapter in the book. But it was hard to focus for Ambrose since Roxanne was talking pretty loudly and he wasn't the best at focussing with noises around him. He needed a quiet place to study and therefore didn't get much done - neither did the others.
