"Manditory viewing?" I repeated, trying to confirm what the peacekeeper at the door had just said. She nodded in agreement.
"Shortly."
"Can you tell me why?" I countered, swaying forward slightly, as I'm quite drunk.
"Quarter Quell"
"Oh well that narrows it down"
"The theme." She said, with a harsh tone.
"Yeah alright." I mumbled, and slammed the door in the peacekeepers face. My little declarance of hatred towards the Capitol.
I looked at the time, and tried to figure out how long until the viewing would take place. Then I realised it wouldn't matter, the tv would flick on.The tv.
Where I had watched replays of Katniss and Peeta's deaths. Blown to bits. The little berry stunt hadn't worked. It still haunts me, a year on. I'm just glad nobody won. Although it had caused a stir in the districts, it was good. Katniss would leave her legacy. These games would never be forgotten. The year when nobody won. Peeta would leave his life as himself, not a piece in the capitols games.
This is why I was drunk at this early hour. I could've done something. I could've told them about the danger, but I was too stupid and drunk to bring anything up.
Now the victors are angry. The victors from all districts felt Katniss' struggle. Me of all people.Suddenly, the TV boomed on, causing me to jump and spill my drink.
"What in the holy hell?!" I shouted, before I realised it was the mandatory viewing.
Despite my desire to destroy the TV, I calmed myself and sat down.
After rambling on about how the Capitol was amazing and victorious, the president finally sauntered onto stage and retrieved the scroll from the box that the young boy held beside him.
He chuckled slightly to himself, before announcing that
"The tributes shall be reaped from the existing pool of victors"
