I put on a nice dress, that was white and lacy at the top, pure lace reaching my wrists, and a f/c skirt on the bottom half. Simple, yet elegant enough for a wedding. I put on some black heels and put my h/c hair into a braid, laying it over my shoulder. I was told it was all inside, so I don't have to worry too much about being cold, but I had a black jacket just in case. I didn't bother with a lot of makeup. Just some s/c eyeshadow, a tiny bit of mascara, and some pale pink lipstick. "Hey, y/n, are you ready to go?"
"Yeah!" I call out in return, heading out to the living room. "Are you sure I should be going though? I mean, I don't know them, and this is their wedding after all-"
"It's fine. Plus, I'm the best man! Bokuto's really friendly, he can get along with anyone. I've already told him and akaashi that I'm taking you, so they know what to expect. It's not like you're crashing it." I sigh.
"Alright. Let's get going then." He nods, and grabs my hand gently as we head to his car.
"Oh, by the way, before I forget." I look at him, wondering what he's going to say, and I start to feel anxious. Is he gonna tell me to leave? "You look beautiful y/n." I let out a breath I wasn't even aware I was holding.
"Thank you kuroo. You look very handsome yourself." I said with a small smile. He had on a white collar shirt and vest, with some dress pants and a red tie. I can tell he tried to fix his hair a little, and it looks a little bit more tame than normal.
"Thank you." He says with a smile as he starts the car and we start driving. Words aren't exchanged between us as we make our way to the place.
"By the power infested in me, I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss the groom." A man that bore an odd resemblance to Jesus said, and the two men kissed. We all clapped and I smiled looking at kuroo who was cheering loudly.
At the reception party, I watched kuroo make a speech about how proud he is of his idiot of a best friend to get married, which I giggled at. As they had the first dance of the night, kuroo stood next to me. "So, what do you think?"
"I think, I'm having a decent time here." I say, staying mostly quiet.
"I'm glad you agreed to come." I nodded, as they finished up their dance. He offered me his hand, and I looked at him a little puzzled. "May I have this dance?" I chuckled, and took it.
"Yes, you may." I said with a soft smile, and he pulled me out to the dance floor.
Later, I was getting some food from the snack bar, when I felt a tap. I turn around to see one of the grooms. I think it was bokuto? "Hey hey hey! I don't think I've seen you before. Who are you?"
"Y/n." I said, taking a deep breath.
"OH! You're the girl kuroo told me about! The name's Koutaro bokuto! My husband keiji's over there talking to hinata." I nod.
"Bro!" I look over to see kuroo walking to us.
"Bro!" He calls out happily.
"I see you met y/n, huh."
"Yeah!"
"Nice! I was actually about to introduce her to you." He turned to me. "This goofball may not look it, but he's the ace of the Olympic volleyball team." He huffed with pride. "We played against his team so often back in high school."
"Interesting. Were you the captain as well?"
"Yep! And akaashi was the vice captain."
"Hey y/n. I never did ask, did you ever join any clubs in high school?"
"I couldn't. My mother was too strict. But I always wanted to join my schools swim team." I chuckle. "Then again, I also wanted to join the art club. I probably would have joined neither out of being indecisive."
"Oh yeah! Did you hear the news?"
"What news?"
"Some lady two towns over was killed in her own home. The cops say there's evidence of a daughter living with her, but they can't find any pictures or anything. They say it was a struggle, and they have no clue where the daughter or the killer is." He shivers. "I just hope they find them soon so there isn't a killer on the loose." I widen my eyes.
"What was the lady's name?"
"M/n l/n I think." Shit. I took a deep breath, and tried not to look guilty.
"That's awful! I hope they do too." Kuroo said, knowing full well what I did. I regret what I did. A lot.
"Was there any other news about her?"
"Well, it was shown on her bloodwork that she had ingested a large amount of alcohol. Well over the legal limit at that." A new voice chimed in. It was the other groom, keiji. "You must be that friend kuroo was talking about. I'm keiji bokuto, it's nice to meet you." He said, handing me his hand, which I took.
"Y/n." He raised an eyebrow.
"No last name?"
"I'm an orphan. I didn't know my parents." He nodded. It was half of a lie. I don't remember my dad, and I don't want them connecting me to my mother. But in a way, yes I'm an orphan.
"My apologies."
"It's fine." We kept talking, and kuroo was right. Bokuto is an easy person to get along with. His husband seems to keep him under control, from getting too out of hand. They were really nice. We left after a while, and I have to say, I enjoyed it.
I just hope they don't find out what I did.
