Will you?

It's been over two weeks since I told kuroo the truth, and he hasn't acted any different. If anything, more sympathetic. My nightmares have lightened up a bit, but I still have them, and when they're too much for me, I just climb into his bed. It helps for some reason. I don't question it. He usually pulls me close, but when we wake up, his head is pressed between two pillows. It's kind of cute, and childish. I guess that's why his hair is so crazy.

At breakfast one morning before we both had to head out for work, he asked me something that surprised me. "Hey y/n?"

"Yeah?"

"Okay, I want you to take as much time with your answer on this. Okay?"

"Alright?"

"Will you go on a date with me next weekend?" I look at him with wide e/c eyes as he continues to talk. "It's just, my best bud is getting married next week, and I don't wanna be going alone. And well, I wanna take you with me. So, will you?" I stay silent, unsure where my words went as my face just goes red.

"Um, I... I'll get back to you on it." I say, grabbing my bag and coat, deciding to go to work and think about it there.

"Okay. Have a good day at work!" He calls after me as I shut the door.

I sit at my workspace, more spaced out than usual. "Hey, you doing good?" Kageyama asked. I know he's not good with this sort of stuff, but I know he's trying.

"I don't know."

"Huh?"

"What do you mean you don't know?" Hinata chimed in.

"Well, kuroo surprised me this morning."

"Huh. I haven't seen kuroo since he graduated. Is he doing good?"

"Huh? You guys know him?"

"Oh yeah we used to play against his school. We were on the volleyball team back in high school."

"Okay. Good to know. Anyways, at breakfast this morning-" Hinata cut me off in confusion.

"Breakfast? Do you live with him?"

"Yeah. Long story short, I ran away, and after a week of walking, I ended up passing out on his lawn. He took me in, and I work now because I don't want to be a free loader." He nodded seeming to get it now. "Anyways, he basically asked me on a date I think? He asked me to go with him as his date to his friends wedding."

"Oh yeah! Bokuto and akaashi! We used to play against them too."

"I don't know." Kageyama shrugged. "If he wants to take you, I think, give it a shot if you want to. I'm not you."

"Yeah." Hinata nodded. "Whatever you say, just know he's not gonna be mad." I nod.

"I... I think I'm gonna say yes." I chuckle to myself. "Let's just hope my words dont fail me." They both nod and we resume work, my head clearer now. I just needed to talk about it with someone.

"I'm back!" I call out into the house, and see kuroo run up to me.

"Y/n!" He pulls me close to him in a hug, which I chuckle and return. "You had me worried! Usually you're home two hours earlier! Where were you?!" He pulled away and started examining my face, looking for bruises or any marks.

"Hinata, kageyama and I had to finish up a project, so we stayed a little later than normal. I'm sorry I worried you." He sighed.

"Oh thank god. I thought you were attacked." Something clicked in his head. "Wait, you work with kageyama and hinata?" I nod. "Neat! Haven't seen them in a few years now."

"Hey, about what you asked me earlier today..."

"Right. I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have sprung that on you like that-"

"Yes."

"Huh?"

"Yes. I'll go with you." His face lit up, and he pulled me in again.

"You're not joking right?"

"Why would I? You asked, I thought about it, and had to talk through it with a couple co-workers, and I'm accepting." He let me go, and leaned down to my level, leaning in to kiss my forehead, but giving me time to back away if I wanted.

"Thank you. You're not going to regret this."

"I never doubted it."
