[ ONE ; the cuticle clipper lay
in my hands as i
stare at it with wonder
i think of red triangles
ones that could be on me ]

[ TWO ; pain is addictive, i know that
the thin, white lines
adorning my arms
and legs and ankles
are proof of it
and so are
the triangle shaped cuts
of the cuticle clipper
that hurt more than
i thought they would ]

[ THREE ; while the cuticle clippers
were addictive, they
did not match
the shining of the scissors
that i so greatly
adored as i did
the red triangles
and the pain ]
