Once the day ended and everyone returned back to the castle, Diavolo asked his daughters about their first day. "Okay girls, how was your first day of school? Tell me all about it." The girls got quiet. "What's wrong girls? Did something happen?" Brianna asked. "Well..". Carmen was about to start but looked at Ravana. "Einoff asked Ravana for her number and she turned him down." Diavolo and Brianna looked at each other. "What about you girls and studying, how was the classes going?" Carmen continued. "It's fine, but what your not hearing, is that Ravana has a crush. And it's Einoff! Maybe she could forget all about O'Nar. Who didn't even show up for school. I mean they spent their whole summer together and he don't show up or even call you. I mean who does that. Didn't you tell him you loved him too. I mean some guys, right?" Brianna eyes widened. "You profess your love to O'Nar and he turned you down." Diavolo asked Ravana. "It's nothing. Please just drop it." And Ravana got up and walked to her room. "Oh, this is bad. Did she know he was studying in the human world this year? And why haven't she told us. What should we do?" Carmen shook her head. "Nothing, you guys will do nothing, I will comfort my sister, and help her get over it. I just need ice cream, some cake, and cookies." Diavolo was speechless. "Well, what about you Carmen, how was your day?" She shrugged her shoulders. "Fine, I guess. It was just okay. But more importantly, you guys. Are you two having more kids?" Brianna looked at her daughter. "That's none of your bus..." Diavolo interrupted. "Yes, we want more children. Why? Would you like a brother or another sister?" Brianna shook her head. "Are we going to talk about it?" Carmen and Diavolo shook their heads. "Absolutely." "Now if you two want to have more children maybe sometimes you two can try..." Brianna stood up from the table. "No, no, no, first off we will not be having this conversation here. And secondly and most importantly not with our 15 year old daughter." Brianna left the room to go talk to Ravana.~still in the study~
After Brianna walked out of the study, Diavolo looked over at his daughter. "We're you girls serious about us having more children or was that a joke?" Diavolo asked looking at her from the side of his eye. "Dad, we would love for another sibling, but hurry up before she's too old." Diavolo squints at Carmen. "Your mother is almost 40, we still have time to have more kids." Carmen shook her head. "Not really, she's human. So it's different. Haven't you read any books on human/demon relationships, dad?" Diavolo shook his head, then raised an eye to Carmen. "Okay, let's drop the subject. So school went okay for you too." She shook her head. "Yes dad, school was fine. We felt the same even when mom taught us. So relax, we will go back tomorrow, and it will be fine dad. Thanks for enrolling us. I'm going to my room, see you at dinner." Carmen gathered her things. "What about you, have you had any confessions of some sort. Any lovers, in your future?" Diavolo raised his eye brows. "Nope, I'm not as pretty as Ravana. So nothing to worry here." Diavolo looked at Carmen, jumped up out of his seat, and stood in her way. "What are you talking about. Besides your mother, you two are the most beautiful girls I've ever seen. What do you mean not as pretty. Who told you that?" Carmen tried to drop the subject. "No one dad, can we just drop it okay. Come on, can we let this go?" Diavolo got firm. "No, we will not let this go, who told you that?" Carmen sighed. "O'Nar, when he told me he liked Ravana better than me. You know, I had a crush on him first, and she didn't even like him. But since they kissed...". Carmen got quiet. "I see. That must have been heartbreaking to find out." And he walked closer to his daughter who started to cry. "When did this happen? What have we been doing to not see heartbreak in our girls." Carmen hugged her father tighter. "It happened at our 15th birthday party. I feel so stupid." Diavolo comforted her. "You absolutely shouldn't. You really liked someone and you put yourself out there and they broke your heart, and that normal for all humans and even demons too." Diavolo wiped her eyes with his sleeve. "Have I ever told you girls that before your mother, I was dating someone who just ran away from me. She told me she couldn't do this relationship anymore and just ran. Man, I was heartbroken. I didn't date for more than 200 years." Carmen looked up at her father. "That's terrible dad, did she ever tell you why?" Diavolo hugged her tight and shook his head. "Nope, I didn't see her again after that. But one day while selecting exchange students is when I saw your mother's profile. At first when I saw her and I thought I saw my ex. So I was stunned, a blast from the past. But when I met your mother at Hotel Corvo, I walked over to her and we started talking, I knew it wasn't her, and I fell in love with your mother. And we've been together ever since. No regrets!" He looked down at his daughter. "Your love will come, maybe not 200 years, but when it does, you'll know that they were waiting for you. Then you can have twin girls like me." He kisses her forehead and tickled her neck, as he looks down at his daughter.
