You are not a rehabilitation center for badly raised men.

It's not your job to fix them.

It's not your job to change him.

Holding a cup of water in her hand, Sarah spotted Rafe walking out of her bedroom. Sarah looked inside, seeing that the girl from earlier was nowhere to be found.

She walked out and yelled at Rafe who was already halfway down the hall, "Where is she?"

Rafe stopped and turned around, furrowing his eyebrows at her in confusion. "Where is who?"

Sarah- "Don't play dumb with me, Rafe. Where is the girl that was in my room just a few minutes ago?"

He pursed his lips together, crossed his arms at his chest, and shrugged. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Sarah scoffed. "You're a terrible liar."

Suddenly, Rafe and Sarah's dad, Ward Cameron came walking around the corner to interrupt them.

Ward- "What's going on?"

Sarah cleared her throat as she kept her head down, and crossed her arms at her chest. "Nothing."

Rafe- "Sarah let a Pogue into our house, Dad. She's one of them now."

Sarah- "Oh, my god." She scoffed. "You're so dramatic."

Disregarding what they were saying, Ward turned to Rafe and stuck his hand out. "Where's my money?"

Rafe- "What money?"

Ward raised his voice, "I lent you $200 to buy stuff for the bonfire. You said you had $75 leftover. Where is it, Rafe?"

Rafe awkwardly shoved his hands down his front pockets.

Rafe- "I, uh... I-" He stuttered.

Ward- "Where is it?!"

The bark in Ward's tone made Rafe cringe. He looked down at the floor in shame, unable to look his Dad in the eye.

Rafe- "I don't-" He scratched his head.

Sarah- "He spent it on drugs, Dad. He's clearly high right now."

Ward widened his eyes at Rafe, the vein his neck popping out.

Rafe- "I'm not-" He stuttered and cleared his throat. "I'll pay you back, I promise."

Before Rafe could say another word, Ward shoved him against the wall.

Ward- "Is this what it comes to, huh?!"

Sarah put her hand up and took a step forward in defense. "Dad."

Ward kept the back of his forearm pressed against Rafe's collarbone, keeping him pinned against the wall. Rafe struggled against him.

Ward- You're a disappointment to this family!" He practically spat in his face. "What, what did I do that was so bad that made you turn out like this?"
