_______Do you remember?
A question that is lingering upon their minds constantly.
Was death nothing but a void? Could a person truly change so much? For better or worse, Quackity rather not know. If he was to catch feelings once more, what would be the use? For the heart that's been broken so many times, it could only take so much. For the people he thought truly loved him, left him. Forgotten him to the wind, or in this case a country he knew nothing about.
It was before that though. It was all those late nights Quackity would awake of nightmares and seek comfort in his fiancés, but they wouldn't give him time of mind. They were either 'too busy', 'would be there in a minute' when 2 minutes later would be cuddling together without him.
That feeling of abandonment was something he was used to. One lover after the next, gone. Eret, Schlatt, Karl, Sapnap, Wilbur. ...Wilbur. The one who left when death parted them. Schlatt passed on too, but that relationship was far from over by the time. Wilbur however, died in flames by his own father.
Quackity remembers.
Quackity remembers the party. Quackity remembers the late nights in Pogtopia. Quackity remembers the nights in the forest, with only him, Wilbur and his guitar. Singing to the stars above them. Quackity remembers seeing Wilbur in the room, the room with the button. The button that killed L'Manberg and the hope and dream behind it. Wilbur's unfinished symphony. Quackity remembers the nights before the fall and explosion of the once great country. The nights he would hold Wilbur close, comforting him. The nights he would awake with nightmares and Wilbur would be there, next to him. The nights they would have someone to hold, even in the intensity of the world around them.
Then he left.
Was that not enough? Was Quackity not enough?
It was almost as if Wilbur was never satisfied.
Quackity told Wilbur to stop. He told him not to go. He tried to stop him, to stop him from leaving. Not only this world but someone who loved him. It's true. He remembers the days he was in love with Wilbur Soot. His charming political rival.
He remembered the day he said the three words to him. "I love you." The day Wilbur turned away and didn't return the statement. Wilbur turned his head, he was shocked. He left that night. Little did Quackity know, that was going to be his last.
The day before his assisted suicide. The day he left this cruel server, away from a world where he thought everyone hated him.
Except for Quackity.
Even in the dark times before Wilbur's death. Quackity was there, to comfort him. Him and his dark mental state. Where he could barely sleep at night but at least had someone who had hope in him. Hope he would change, maybe there was a chance he wouldn't push the button. Get rid of everything he worked for. Months and months of work. Gone.
When Quackity said those words to him. He couldn't handle it. What would push Wilbur off the edge of death would be the abandonment of the last possible relationship he would have. Tommy stopped caring years ago (or so he thought), Sally was long gone and his own son hated him. Wilbur never had a good relationship with his father either. Phil would leave and not come back for months, weeks. He missed many of Tommy's birthdays after he turned 9. Tommy still had hope that Phil would make it to at least one of them. He never did. Would it be possible, would it be true if Quackity would actually stay?
