Chapter 4, The wink wink, and the wink

I'm still mad at that idiot for coming into my bedroom from the window. He didn't even have any reason to do it. I don't even know how he got him because I'd fallen asleep with the window locked.

I have nothing to do today. It's summer so I don't have school(what a blessing). I can be lazy all day with Fluffy!

My mother came into my room(without knocking the door, where is my privacy in this life?) and told me to get dressed so she could drop me off at Luke's house with Aron, Aspen, and Nadia. This was because she had some work to do with all the other adults for the whole day, including Mr. Fox, so all of us "children" would be in the same place. She didn't tell me what type of work this was, and when I asked, she ignored me.

I hate being treated like a child. If only she knew. I also do not want to go to Luke's house because of what he did last night. I wanted to avoid him like the plague, but no. I have to go to his house of all places.

This was going to be hell.

I got dressed and got in the car with Nadia, who was moaning and groaning because she "didn't want to be out and about at eight in the morning, she was usually asleep until 12." She kept whining the whole car ride. If she were my child, I would set her up for adoption. When we finally got to Luke's house, my mother dumped us there and left. Rude.

I knocked on the door and a boy I did not recognize answered. He went down on his knee and kissed my hand. "What a fine lady you are," he said. "You must be #####. I am Derek." He winked.

I smiled at him. He seemed like a proper young child.

Luke appeared out of nowhere, winked at me, tackled Derek to the floor, and announced, "That's my lady you're winking at! Get away from her!" "I'm not your lady," I replied calmly. I smiled warmly at Derek just to make Luke mad.

Luke quickly got off the floor and gasped a loud, fake gasp of surprise and displeasure. "HOW DARE YOU STEAL MY LADY FROM ME, DEREK! YOU HAVE ANGERED ME WITH YOUR ACTIONS!" Derek rolled his eyes in response and kissed my hand once again. Luke snatched my hand from Derek and kissed it. Derek winked at me twice, so Luke winked at me three times.

Aron appeared out of nowhere with two metal, stainless steel frying pans and whacked Derek's and Luke's heads with them. Luke stuck his tongue out at Aron. "I deserved that. My sincere apologies for being improper in front of you, my lady. You must see me as a scumbag now," said Derek. "That's fine," I replied. Luke let out another fake gasp. "This is unacceptable!" He shouted.

"You're just jealous," said Derek.

That's when Luke started fake crying like a bad actor.

Nadia was just staring at us like we were the chewed-up wad of gum in her hair from last week. Nobody noticed her standing there, maybe Aspen did, who successfully learned how to fart whenever he wanted and was doing it right then and there. After Luke stopped fake crying like a bad actor, we all sat down and had cookies with tea. We were all silent for about five seconds.

"I'm bored," complained Nadia. "What should we do?" "I dunno," replied Derek. We all sighed.

After a while Luke shouted, "I know what we can do, we can sword fight, and the ladies can watch us! I can show off my skills." He winked. "I have better skills," Derek stated, and winked. "I honestly don't care,'' said Aron, "but okay." Aspen just moaned as if that would be hard work that he is too lazy to do.

This is going to be chaotic, I should stop them. I know their weaknesses all too well. "Hey, I never said I would sit and watch you have all the fun," I smirked, "I wanna sword fight too!" They obviously won't let me sword fight because they think i'm weak, so if I say I want to they would cancel it altogether and do something else. I don't want them "showing off their skills" to me, trying to impress me. They'd obviously get hurt.

They all looked at each other. "B-but, ladies don't sword fight!" Luke fought. "You'll get hurt!" "Well, you could get hurt too, and this isn't 1886. GIVE ME THE SWORD IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU."

"NO, you will not. I agree with Luke, you're a girl. We can do something else," said Aron. "I agree," said Derek. Luke pouted. "Fine," he sighed, "let's do something else." "I know, we can all shut up and act like normal people!" Nadia barked.

That's when Aspen let out the biggest fart yet. It lasted for about ten seconds, and then there was silence.

Mr. Fox came in through the door while we were laughing. "Don't tell me you drank alcohol," he warned.

We all stopped and stared at him for a second, then started laughing even harder, if that were possible. Nadia was purple at this point. I caught my breath and said "No sir."

My mother took us back home after that. That was an unforgettable day.
