(Y/n) was snapped out of her thoughts as she realised her alarm was still going off, moving back over to the bed quickly. Pulling herself up and onto the mattress, with much struggle, (Y/n) used her paw to press the 'off' button on the alarm clock.

"This... can't be a dream. But this can't be reality, either..." (Y/n) cautiously looked over her paws, inspecting the beans that made up her paw pads.

Realising she had no fingers to pinch herself with, (Y/n) opted to bite her arm.

"Ow! Wait, I have sharp teeth, too!?" becoming quite alarmed now, thoughts began racing through (Y/n)'s head when suddenly she heard a knock on the bedroom door.

"(Y/n), sweetie, are you up yet?"

(Y/n) looked down at her cat paws again and quickly realised she had to get out of sight. Jumping off the bed again she slid underneath it, noticing her phone on the floor and pulling it under with her.

"It's okay if you aren't, I was actually going to tell you that you can stay home today since you've been having such a hard time," her mother continued. (Y/n) was barely listening, more concerned with pressing herself as far away from the edge of the bed as she possibly could.

"I know you have exams to revise for, but don't worry about them. I'll call your teachers and talk to them about arranging something... does that sound alright, honey?" a moment of silence passed, but all (Y/n) could focus on was the loud beating of her heart as sat frozen under the bed. "(Y/n)?" she heard her mother call out again.

This time the door opened, and (Y/n)'s mother looked inside only to see that the room was empty.

"(Y/n), are you in here?" she asked worriedly. "Niko, have you seen (Y/n) this morning?" her mother called back downstairs, walking quickly out of the room.

Oh no! I have to let her know I'm okay before she thinks I'm missing, or something!

(Y/n) looked down at her phone, deciding that a text message would be the most reasonable way to communicate with her parents given the circumstances.

Struggling monumentally to unlock her phone with her tiny toe-beans, (Y/n) opened her messaging app hurriedly and search for her mother.

"...okay, I'll just call her then. Let me check her room again first." (Y/n) heard her mother's voice get closer until she appeared in the room again, looking around.

No! I have to text her before she tries calling me, or she'll hear my phone!

Now more terrified than ever, (Y/n) abbreviated her text as much as humanly (or catly) possible, praying that she was going to be fast enough.

(Y/n) [7:07am]: Hey mum I 4got to tell u I left early 2day

"Niko, I just got a message from her!" (Y/n)'s mother called back downstairs, and (Y/n) heard her father's heavy footsteps before he appeared in the room too.

"Really? Where is she?" he asked worriedly.

"Hold on, she's typing again." Her mother said, both of them moving to sit at the edge of the bed.

(Y/n) typed as quickly as she could, the silence of her parents hovering in the room almost suffocating her.

(Y/n) [7:10am]: I am @ Aikas 2 study & wont be home 2nite either sory

"She's just at Aika's studing," (Y/n) heard her mother say, followed with two sighs of relief.

"At least she's okay," her dad said.
