I wake up to the sunlight hitting my face and I feel a strong pair of arms holding my waist. Jack. I feel his breath on the back of my neck and I turn and face him. He's still asleep. I look over his face for a moment. He seems so at ease and peaceful. I see his eyes flutter slightly so I nestle my face into his chest and pretend to be asleep. I feel him place a kiss on top of my head and I can feel him smile as he does so. He begins to pepper my face with light kisses. I open my eyes and look into his. "Mornin' pretty girl." He smiles at me. "Good morning" I yawn. He kisses me on the lips and rests his forehead on mine. "Will you go out with me tonight?" He asks. Last time he suggested I go out with him it did not end well. "Asking this time I see?" "Shut up" he laughs, "Seriously, Alexa, will you go out with me tonight? I promise you I will be at your door when I say I will be. I will be there I promise." I look in his eyes. They're pleading for an answer. "Yes Jack, I will go out with you tonight. But if you show up even a minute late it's your ass." "Yes ma'am." He kisses me again. "I'll be there at 7." "You better be" I laugh. I get up and find my clothes so I can head home and get ready. I head down stairs and see people sprawled out everywhere. I mean this place is trashed. "Oh shit where's Aj and Norma?" I text our groupchat to check on them

Hooker (aj): I'm at Johnny's lmoooo
Me: Jesus Christ okay at least you aren't dead. What about you Nor?
Jesus Child (Norma): I'm upstairs with Cole.
Me: alright cool you're both alive im gonna head back to my place and get cleaned up I got a hot date 😏
Hooker: PLEASE SAY ITS JACK

Hooker: YES
Jesus Child: omg yayyy have fun.
Me: I will. Ima get going and get ready ttyl.
I didn't even bother to see if they answered I got in my car and went home. As soon as I got home I hopped in the shower to get all the party funk off and I wrapped myself up in a robe and checked the time. 3:47 pm. Jeez I must've slept later than I thought. I started to plan my outfit. Shit, I think to myself,what SHOULD I wear? I decide to text Jack and ask.
Me: Hey Jack quick question. What should I wear tonight?
Jack ❤: something simple and casual.
Me: okay cool.
I head to my closet and decide on some skinny jeans, a sweater, and some white converse.

get dressed and check the time again; 4:24 pm. Dang times dragging on. I decide to curl my hair to kill some time and put on some concealer, mascara, and highlight. 5:53 pm. Damn I have an hour to kill. I go downstairs and I sit on my couch. The thoughts start piling in.
What if he's late?
What if he doesn't show up at all?
What if he's with someone else?
He can find better than me.
There's gotta be way prettier girls.
"God Alexa calm down," I tell myself, "it'll be okay if he doesn't show there are always others." I check the time; 6:19 pm. Wow I was pondering for a while. I turn on the TV and watch The Office. I finish my episode and check the time; 6:58 pm. Oh god. He has 2 minutes to either steal or break my heart. My clock dings.
One.
My heart starts racing.
Two.
My hands start sweating.
Three.
My breathing gets heavy
Four.
I begin to feel nauseous
Five.
Why is time passing so slow?
Six.
God I got my hopes up for nothing didn't I?
As soon as I lose hope, the seventh chime and my doorbell ring in sync. I run to the door and open it.
"I told you I'd be on time."
