Chapter 18 Eternal Slumber

~Levi p.o.v.~
I start to get more on edge this week. It's the last week of the month. Shit. I know I can't die. I know this with all my heart, mind, and soul but guess who can die? Eren. Anyone can make an "accident" happen. I sigh and walk down into the dinning hall with Eren. He smiles and holds my hand reassuringly. I give him a little half smile as we approach out seats beside on another. I have my usually berries and such. He eats a hamburger. I was surprised when he first ate. He would only eat a Hamburger and nothing else unless it was a veggie. I didn't complain. at least it wasn't raw meat or something. We eat slowly, chit chatting about random things. He laughs at half the things I saw without me even realizing it was funny. Suddenly, screaming is heard throughout the castle. A man? Woman? Couldn't tell. We both jump up and I grab Eren and pull him close to me, wrapping my arms around him tightly. I reassure him it's all going to be ok. A man walks in covered in blood. He slowly walks over to us and I watch him in horror. He tries to say something but no words come out. He falls to the ground, dead. Eren shrieks out in horror. I tell for more guards to protect Eren in the bedroom as I go to see what's the problem. I watch Eren be taken away by a group of guards. 8-15 of them to be precise. He yells at me to let him stay by my side but as much as it hurts me, I brush off his words and head towards the entrance. You can see the front of the castle and the back from our bedroom so I know he will be watching. I pull out my sword and walk outside. Bodies of all my dear comrades on the ground before me. Covered in blood. I keep an emotionless expression. I am burning with rage on the inside. I look forward to see a cloaked figure licking the blood off his fingers. He is holding a gun in his left hand.
"Levi..I came to finish this." The cloaked man yells. I know this voice all too well. Kenny. My worthless Uncle.
"Back crawling for more I see? This time I will make no mistake in taking your head off. He snickers and removes the cloak. Half is face is horribly scarred. I remember taking the very sword I hold know and cutting half his face. Fits his twisted personality. He charges at me silently and I do the same. I swing my sword straight for his neck. He dodges but as a slight cut on his cheek. He scowls and backs up creating distance. He points his gun at me and smirks.
"You know I can't die so what good will that do you?" I yell at him, clearly pissed.
"Levi! Please don't die!" I hear Eren scream. I quickly look up to see Eren half way out the window crying.
"Let's see how good it works hn?" Kenny chuckles out. I quickly look back at him and he has the gun pointed at Eren.
"No!" A gun shot rings through my ears. I feel my wings burst from my back and not even a second later I'm in the sky in front of Eren. I feel a sharp pain hit me in the center of the chest. Shock all over my face. Eren screams my name as I fall to the ground. I cough and try to get up but cannot.
"Wh-What have you...done?" I cough out. Blood pours from my mouth like a broken faucet. I don't understand. I'm not suppose to die! I'm immortal! Kenny laughs and I look towards him. He has walked up to me without me even noticing it.
"There was a spell I had placed on that bullet just for you fairy boy. You won't die but you won't wake up either." He laughs but that laugh is quickly silenced. I noticed Eren wasn't seen nor was he heard. A beautiful wolf appears and jumps over me and onto Kenny. He starts bitting anywhere he can.
"Eren?" I weakly say. Black spots are starting to cloud my vision. Kenny is screaming in pain and I notice he has a knife and is...stabbing Eren! Eren seems unaffected. I quickly understand. Him being stabbed isn't accidental. He rips Kenny's throat out and turns to me, covered in blood. Kenny wasn't my real uncle. He was human. Eren turns back to normal and crawls to my side.
"Levi..don't close your eyes. Don't fall asleep or you won't wake up. Please! I can't lose you! Not you Levi!" He is bawling his eyes out. I smirk weakly and put my hand on his cheek.
"I'll come back Eren...I'm not leaving you....I'm so....tired Eren....so............tired..I..love..y-" Before I could choke out the last word, darkness consumes me into a slumber. An Eternal Slumber.

~Eren p.o.v.~
He closed his eyes. Why? I start shaking him begging him to wake up. This can't be the end! Not the end of us!
"Levi you bastard! COME BACK! DON'T LEAVE ME LIKE THIS!!" I scream at the top of my lungs. I realize he isn't going to wake back up. I pick up his limo body and carry him inside, all the while I'm still screaming and crying. At times like these you feel alone. So Alone. I drag him to our room and start a bath. I stop crying and strip him down, carefully placing him in the water. I wash him down and rise him off. When I'm sure he is clean I take him out of the tub and dry him off. I put down if his best clothes,that I could find, on him and brush his hair the way he likes it. I pick up his body bridal style and place him on the bed. I turn down the covers and lay him in them. I cover him up and place his hands on top of his chest. I clean the already spotless room and shut the door, locking it behind me. No one will bother him while he is asleep. He will come back to me. I just know it. He said he would. I collapse on the ground and curl up crying again. I hear Hanji run up to me and try to calm me down but it doesn't work. Suddenly the thought hits me.
"Hanji! Didn't you come up with a serum for immortality?!"
She looks at me warily.
"..Yes but it affects your appearance."
"Give it to me! I will not die knowing he is like this! He is coming back!"
She nods sadly and leads me into her lab.

{Time skip \(*^*)>}

I look in the mirror to see myself. My hair is white and my eyes are red. My nails have grown to a sharp point and I have tiny fangs. My ears are showing and apparently they won't go away. I feel stronger. Confident. I smile at Hanji.
"I'll be waiting my Prince. Even if I have to wait forever.
I walk out of the castle and breathe in the summer air. Some might think our journey together is over. I say, it has just begun.
