Chapter 22: Renan

"Rounded Table Meeting."

Sadeva's House.

Celebecia, The Republic.

TWO CRUSADER PLANES LANDED NEXT TO THE STATUE OF BATAVERON PEACOCK. The stone statue bears the Sadeva family motto: Promise made of bond, paid with life. Renan was already standing in front of the big door of the house with the other Sadevas and their Guardian, Jack the Sundwarf. Kiyo and Navisa had already approached the Crusader's guests just as the two doors of the war-jetplanes were open. The sun has sunk.

"Guru is not feeling well." Jack answered Renan's question a moment ago. "So, your missing old friends are coming?"

"I hope so."

"Renan!" Ziandra King is running across the grounds of the Sadevas house. Following the girl, are Idre Aars, as well as two other young men, with clothes that had not dried completely.

"Zi!" Renan ran to greet his best friends. The longing and nostalgia of his childhood instantly moved him.

BUK!

Renan was slumped on the ground. "Aw."

"Oh, my goodness!" One of the young men with a backpack on his back exclaimed in shock.

"Miss..." The other one shook his head.

"Just accept it. I promised to beat you all up when we met again." Ziandra helped Renan stand up and hug him.

"She punched me too." Idre admits. Renan welcomed one of his other besties. Renan had not been in sight with the owners of these two ocean eyes for a long time.

"It's Jin and Kenzo." Ziandra introduces the two foreign youths, who are typical of Osuka.

Renan nodded and gives his hand. "Renan." The two young men greeted him in turn.

"Where have you been all this time? What happened to you?" Renan asked Ziandra. He was not interested in asking about Idre who had been in Crusader uniform.

"Long story." Answer Ziandra. "Later."

"Idre." Kiyo called, as Navisa ushered the other Crusaders into the house. The other plane that landed was carrying General Adipati Sadeva himself. Idre immediately followed Kiyo.

Renan's father stopped when he saw his youngest son. "We all need to talk." Added the General. "Including the two of you." The man pointed at Renan and Ziandra with two fingers at once.

"Your father hasn't changed at all." Ziandra said. "It's very similar to mine. Very intimidating." She continued, "I mean, in a good way."

Renan chuckles. "Come on, this is my first important meeting."

"Me too."

Except for Jin and Kenzo, everyone had gathered in the meeting room located just off the living room. Renan sits side by side with Ziandra, Idre, and Jack. Right in front of Renan, sat Kiyo, Navisa and a man named Cetta. Benjamin Khan, Mibell's father, sat filling one of the seats next to them. General Sadeva sat leading the meeting, with empty seats on his both sides.

"The Valkyrie destroyed Osuka.

Ziandra stiffened in her chair. She is about to say something but then chooses to undo her intentions.

"Princess, Surodoi-Hana Palace of House Hikari, the legacy palace of your mother's clan, has been destroyed." General Sadeva gave bad news first.

Ziandra begins to shed tears beside Renan. But there is no sobbing. Renan and Idre clasped both of the girl's hands. She just nodded.
