(The next Morning)
*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* My eyes opened to the sun coming through my blinds I picked up my phone, turned off my alarm checked the time 10am (realising I had cried myself to sleep & slept through my 8AM alarm). 10AM?! I thought to myself, I got up and went downstairs to find my Mom sitting at the kitchen table.
"Morning Mom" I said "Morning Paige, you sleep okay"? she replied back. "Did I sleep okay"? Looking at her with this puzzled expression on my face. I would have slept a lot better if I knew you believed in me and my dreams. "Did you know I cried myself to sleep last night"? My Mom looking down at her coffee and replied "No, I didn't". *I sit down at the kitchen table across from her* "Mom, do you not realize this Island Records UK internship could be the biggest blessing, and biggest thing that could make my dreams come true? Not to mention I NEVER EVER thought this would happen to me!?" "Paige, you know I love you and I'm just trying to look out for your best interest". BEST INTEREST?! "What is that supposed to mean?" I replied. "Paige, it means I don't want you to get hurt"? "Mom, you CAN'T prevent me from getting hurt, that's life, no matter what I choose to do with my life there is no way you could stop it from happening, no matter how hard you tried.
"I know you love me and I know you've worked so hard for me to make sure I'd have everything I've ever needed and I really love and appreciate you for that; but you not believing in me or my dreams is already hurting me. I don't want to look back and regret this amazing opportunity if I didn't take the chance and if I fail at it, at least I'll know in my heart I tried." (I said as tears fill my eyes).
My Mom looked up at me and said "Paige what you just said made me realize how passionate about music you really are, I had no idea my negativity had such an effect on you". "Well it does Mom" I said. "Well I'm sorry, do you accept my apology"? (as she came around the table and hugged me). "Of course I accept your apology Mom". Now I'm going to go write a response to the record company saying I'll be happy to accept the internship!
I went back upstairs to my room grabbed my laptop and hurried back downstairs "I can't believe I'm actually doing this" I said outloud, it just doesn't feel real! My hands shaking I started typing...

Thank You so much for accepting me into your intern program, it has been a dream of mine for quite some time to work with such an incredible company like yours and I'm very honored.

*Phone rings with the ringtone of "I Found You" by The Wanted* (My favorite band) I looked at the caller I.D. and it was my friend Reese.
Me: "Hi, Resse! "Hey girl, how are you?"
Reese: "I'm doing alright, how are you"!?
Me: "I'm doing really good actually"
Reese: whats up with you?" she replied. (She could tell I was more excited than usual)
Me: "Well you're coming over today aren't you"?
Reese: "Yes, I'll be there in about an hour" "Okay"
Me: I'll tell you what's going on when you get here okay"?
Reese: "Sure *she said laughing*, see you then. Bye"
Me: "Bye Reese" and I hung up the phone."
(I hurried upstairs showered, got dressed and put my make-up on)
*About an hour later*
(Door bell rings, I open the door)
"Hey Reese!" "Hey girl, so what's up"?! She says (as she looks at me giving me this sly girn like I've done something wrong) "What are you looking at me like that for"!? I say (as this smile comes across my face) "Well because your grining like something big has happened!" (I look at the ground biting my lip) "Well because something BIG has happened" "Then tell me!"
"Well", I say as we sit down on the couch in my living room. "Rember the internship I was telling you about a month ago with this record company"? "Yeah" she replied. "I got this reply from them yesterday as I show her the E-Mail from Island Records UK (showing they had accepted my application for my internship). "OMG Paige"! She said *practically jumping off the couch* this is amazing! I'm SO happy for you!" "Thank You SO much" for saying that Reese, it truly means a lot. *containing her excitement she sat back down* "So" did you reply?! "did you say yes"?! "I di- (I heard my E-Mail notification beep go off) that might be them replying back! "Let me go see!"
(I read the E-Mail aloud so Reese can hear)
Dear Paige,
We are so happy you have decided to accept your internship position here at Island Records here in the United Kingdom. We can tell you have so much drive, and passion for music just by reading your reply back to us. Your flight will leave on Monday at 6AM EST.
*Opens attached document*

You can also bring a friend if you like, we know starting a new job, and coming to live in another country can be can be daunting so you can bring a friend or family member with you!

*Our mouths fell open as I can't believe what I just read, and Reese can't believe what she just heard*
"OMG" Reese! Can you believe this!" My dreams are finally coming true!! *Tears start roll down my cheeks* and I can't believe I get to bring my best friend with me! "Aw, I'm SO happy for you Paige!" Reese said. "Wait, you are taking me with you?!" "Yes silly"! I replied. *Reese looked like she could pass out* "Are sure you want to take me with you?!" "YES" I'm sure! "AHHH" she screamed hugging me so tight I felt like she was going to break me....
