When Renjun got medical science degree, he knew where exactly he wanted to work.

His parents, however, were surprised when he said that he was going to work at a children's clinic, on top of that, in China. They expected him to be a surgeon. But Renjun wanted to work with kids. He never really adjusted to serious surgeries even when he had to work with special instruments. His mind traveled back to the past when he did the surgery with kitchen tools. It was a bad experience and the main reason why Renjun couldn't look at surgeries the same.

Being a surgeon also meant that Renjun would have seen all kinds of failures. Most of them would have been accidents, but the boy was sure that he would have also seen the consequences of crimes. It would be stressful, in Renjun's opinion. And all he wanted was a peaceful life.

Working with kids was a lot easier. Their problems weren't that serious. Renjun liked how most of the matters could be solved just by talking. He worked as a free psychologist most of the time but he was also generously giving away the patches whenever kids would visit him after hurting themselves. The kids loved him.

One particular boy loved him the most. The kid was hospitalized after he broke his arm when he fell off a tree. He was crying mess when he was brought there which made Renjun mad when he didn't see his parents. He was visiting the kid for the whole day, trying to make friends since the boy looked lonely.

He didn't talk much at first, but when he saw that Renjun was comfortable to have around, he opened up too.

"I don't understand what you're saying."

Renjun's eyes widened.

"Oh, you're Korean!"

"You can speak Korean?" the boy also got surprised.

Since the language barrier got broken, the kid got comfortable with Renjun right away. He waited for Renjun each day and would tell him what he did throughout the day.

One day Renjun approached the woman who was responsible for marking the guests. He asked if the boy's parents came to see him to which the woman said that they did. Renjun was confused as he hadn't seen anyone visiting the kid.

He decided to visit the boy just as he left the woman's table. When he went in, he saw both males sitting around the kid and playing with him. Renjun smiled at the sight and bowed.

"Are you Jisung's parents?" he asked for confirmation.

There was an awkward silence but then one of them nodded.

Renjun took off his glasses that comfortably rested on his hair and put them on his nose. He looked at the boy's files.

"He's getting better, but you'll need to watch over him. Your kid is only five years old and his arm is already broken."

"Renjun..."

"The cast could be taken off only with doctor's help."

Renjun noticed that the parents seemed familiar. However, he thought that it was normal as he had seen a lot of parents when working with kids.

But something about them didn't give Renjun peace. He suddenly stopped giving instructions on how to raise a child and looked up from the papers. Two males were already looking at him. They recognized the boy faster than he did.

"It's been so long, Renjun," Jaemin said with a sad smile.

The boy remained silent, though. He stared at them, his brain, his memories trying to work to recreate the appearance of them seven years ago. They looked different but also very similar. How was that possible?
