Part 4/?

Later that day I told Aph at my house about the weird guy at my locker, but as soon as I said the word "weird" she whipped her head in my direction, glaring.

"He is not weird, Zane! He just wants to get to know you!"

"Wait, you know this guy?"

"...Of course I do..? I talked about him non stop last year!"

"Oh... where did Aaron get the ears and tail?"

"That's not Aaron! That's Ein!"

"WHAT?"

Ein had looked completely different from when i saw him last year, he must have taken out all of his piercings over the summer.. and his signature blue streak had grown long enough to tuck behind his ear. I haven't really ever heard him speak either, the way Aph described him, I imagined him to a way deeper voice voice. 

"Yeah he changed a few things over the summer, said he wanted to better himself."

"Good for him."

"Yeah.." she stood up and poured herself a cup of water "I'm really proud of him. He's come a long way since last year, he even gathered up the courage to come out to me."

"Come out..? Like, as gay?"

"Yeah.. is that a problem?"

"No, not at all! I guess I just never really expected it from someone like him. I expected it more from Garroth."

She started laughing so hard that she spat out her water and started to choke.

"GARROTH?" 

"Yeah?" we both heard a goofy, cartoonish voice say from the front door, as he had just gotten back from practice.

"N-nothing" she said in between coughs

After that day, I decided that I should give Ein a chance. After all, he did seem pretty nice.

I looked for him all over the school the next morning, and finally found him in the library sitting at one of the tables all alone, reading. I walked over to the seat across from him, but as soon as I sat down, he immediately snapped his book shut and tried to get it out of sight from me as quickly as he could.

"...You okay?"

"Yup! What're you doing here?" I guess he didn't want to talk about the book anymore, so for his sake I didn't question him further.

"Here for you, actually" his ears perked up at that "I'm sorry for how I behaved yesterday I genuinely had no idea who you were and thought you were somebody else"

"No worries. I didn't find you rude at all."

We both smiled at each other, and the morning bell chose that exact moment to ring. of course, I thought.

"Well.. I'll see you later." Ein was already on his feet and had pushed his chair in.

"Yeah.. see you.." I watched him walk out the double doors and turn left down the hall

Then I suddenly had an idea

"Hey, Ein! Wait up!" i had finally caught up to him at the end of the hallway.

"Is something wrong?"

"No, no nothing like that. I was just wondering if you'd want to come to my place after school today? Aphmau's also coming."

His eyes lit up like this was the best news he ever received in his life

"Yeah! Sure, I would love to!"

"Alright, great! Meet me at class W214 after school, that's Aphmau's class."

"Ok, I will!"

After I saw him go into his class, I turned around and walked out the front exit.

What harm would skipping one class do?
