Top Cat

After moving your business, you are the first tailor in Jellystone. Business is going really well for you, and you have been getting to know the people who live in this town by what they have you make for them. But as of now, you rest your head in your arms, as you haven't had a single customer yet today. That is until you hear the door chime.

Your head perks up, and in strides a yellow cat, his ears protruding from the purple hat that he donned. You can tell that he's confident by the way he strides into the room, tail flicking back and forth. You sit up straight as he approaches your front desk. "Hey, can you make me a vest to match this hat? You see, I used to have a real nice one, but I got into a bit of a brawl earlier, and now it looks more like used wrapping paper."

"Sure thing!" You nodded. "And your name?" You didn't have to ask this until later, but the way he holds himself really catches your eye, and you find yourself intrigued by him. "Top Cat's the name. You'll hear it around." He smirks.

"Alright Top Cat, do me a favor and stand on that platform there." You gesture to a round and slightly elevated area on the floor. One of Top Cat's ears twitched subtly at the sound of his name in your voice. He decides to play it cool, though, not ready to process that he has already started to crush on you. He saw how well your business has been doing, and admired it from the start. His old jacket is still wearable, but he used this as an excuse to finally see what you're like.

He stands on the platform. "You're already putting me on a pedestal, huh?" He says smugly. "Who wouldn't, with the confidence you have?" You play back while you grab your measuring tape from your desk drawer. If he wants to play it like that, you know you're ready.

Top Cat's tail impulsively flicks a little faster at your remark. Sure, he flirts with people he takes a liking to to and fro, but he was almost never flirted back with. He was crushing on you more faster than ever. He snapped out of his own thoughts when he heard you say from behind him, "Put your arms up. I'm gonna take your measurements."

Normally he's not too quick to do what others tell him, but he obliges fast, and you wrap the measuring tape around his waist. He blushes slightly at the sight of arms wrapping around him, especially with his regular vest off of him. You take a few more measurements to make sure before putting your measuring tape away.

"Alright! I'll have this done for you in a few days." You said, jotting down his measurements on a note pad. "You mean I get to see you again?" He teased. "Only if you pay half right now." You said, knowing that as much of a flirt he was, this was still a business transaction. "Oh. Right." Top Cat said, handing you some cash that he definitely didn't steal from the guy he tussled with earlier.

A few days pass before Top Cat returns to your tailor shop. "How's it comin' along?" He asks, leaning against your desk. "How's this?" You hold up the newly tailored vest to show him. His eyes immediately light up and he smiles wide. "Oh this is just marvelous!" He takes it and immediately tries it on. It's similar to his old one, except it's brand new and fits him ever so perfectly. He strikes a few poses with it, so happy with it. "How can I ever thank you?" He asks. "You can pay me the other half of the money now." You snicker. You're so happy to see him this happy, though. Sure, his charm is nice and flattering, but seeing his genuine happiness warms your heart and warms you up to him. He hands you the other half of the price, some more definitely not stolen money. 

"I know the deal is done and all now, but, can I still see you again?" You think about it. It wouldn't hurt if he stops by the shop every now and again, right? So long as he doesn't drive people away, you can't really think of a downside. "You certainly can." You smile. Then you remember something. "Y'know, the shop closes in about an hour. Come back around, Top Cat, and we can hang out." Top Cat beams. "I won't miss it!"
