The Wilsons began searching for their daughter, or if she was dead, her body.

They searched the lake, the woods, and even nearby towns like Hiddenville with the town police, but they couldn't find a single hair of Abby's. They questioned everyone in Yandelltown (or almost everyone) and a week later, Abby was presumed dead and a coffin was buried.They questioned all the inhabitants of Yandelltown (or almost all of them) and a week later they declared Abby dead and buried an empty coffin in the town cemetery. All the townspeople were very upset with this "loss" as Abby was always a very hospitable and kind girl, but, some people didn't bother to hide how much they were glad she was gone.

Two weeks went by and they decided they could no longer delay going back to school, so the high schools and college were reopened.Abby had friends, of course, some far away like Mike Anderson, who she only talked to once a week when they met in the halls of the high school. Mike is 15 years old and was in his junior year when Abby was in her senior year, so Mike was a year younger than Abby. It took Mike a long time to find out about Abby, since, strangely, her disappearance was not published in any newspaper in town, nor was it announced on the news.

He found out through his best friend, Kyle Mcgregor. Kyle lives with his father John in a small house at one point in town, unlike Mike, who lives five blocks down the street from Kyle's house, on the outskirts. Mike lives with his father and sister Agnes. His father, Daniel Anderson, is one of the typical men that most people get along with, according to people, he is kind, dedicated to his family, responsible and a good man, but unfortunately Mike knew that only half of that was true.The truth was that his father was an alcoholic, a drinker, who didn't give a damn about his family since his wife passed away, so Mike was the one who mainly took care of his sister. Mike did not like his life, he had always wished to live in the big cities, like for example New York or London, he would have also liked to live with his mother and father in a nice apartment, being happy with his sister, but that was not what happened to his life, he lived 10 of his 15 years in Yandelltown, he does not know where he lived his first 5 years, The only thing he knows is that his mother died in a car accident when he was 5 years old and his sister was 1, and that by miracle his father survived, who was the one who was driving with his mother, returning from running some errands, his mother, whose name was Diane Denson, died instantly since she was the one who was driving, and as for his father, he only suffered minor injuries. It is believed that their children were very lucky not to be with them at the time of the accident, as they were at their old home (wherever it was) under the care of their nanny, whose name Mike and Agnes do remember, which was Nancy.
