Ghost Dream

notes: hello! these will all be relatively short, which is the point of a drabble collection.

Dream dies in the prison.

Sam finds his ghost, hours, maybe days, later. He leads him out of the prison. Even the warden is not cruel enough to imprison a man that has no memory of his crimes.

Dream's ghost is similar to Ghostbur. Only good memories. He's innocent, childlike.

Daydream, they call him.

Back out in the Greater Dream SMP, Daydream interacts with his old friends. He sees George, Punz, Sapnap, Bad. Bonds over and reminisces about the old times.

These people, they love Daydream. It's like their old friend is back again, the merciful ruler they once knew.

It seems that it's only Wilbur that's unhappy with this new iteration of Dream. This wasn't the man who rescued him, the man who revived him. Just a weak copy, as if the printer had run out of ink.

And so, Wilbur searches for the revive book. The only tool that will allow him to save the man who saved him.

And he finds it. It's hidden in the ramblings of Dream's journal. As it turns out, Dream, fearful of his failing memory, had written down the instructions for revival in coded messages.

Finally, after Daydream has spent months with his old friends, Wilbur brings Dream back.

He brings cruel, broken, violent Dream back, back into a world that didn't want him.

And how horrible it must be to wake up in a world where no one wants you, where people like your ghost more than they like you.

it's an awakening for this tortured man. He stares into the faces of his old friends and sees only regret. Regret that Dream has returned.

So he decides to finally do something good with his sad, miserable life.

He leaves a note for Wilbur, of course, he doesn't want a repeat of the situation. But he neglects to leave anything for Sapnap, Punz, George, Bad, or anyone else. it's not as if they want to hear from him.

His second permadeath is just as lonely as his first.

Daydream is happily welcomed back into the Greater SMP.
