"Hm?" Dream asked, pulling his attention away from the view of ice and snow.

It had been three weeks since Techno's friends - the syndicate, he'd called them - had rescued the two of them from the prison. Dream was beyond grateful, of course. It was just...

After months of wasting away in a prison that only had obsidian walls to look at, to go from a view of complete darkness to one of the bleak arctic was mildly discouraging.

After all, it wasn't as if Dream could get up and leave Techno's house to go travel the world. Take in all the greens and blues he'd been desperately wishing for. Dream could barely stand.

"What is it Techno?" Dream prompted the pink haired man in front of him, his voice much weaker than it should have been.

Technoblade glanced away, looking out the window before his eyes flickered back to Dream.

"I have somethin' for you?"

Dream blinked in surprise, "You do?"

Techno coughed into his hand, feeling embarrassed, "You can't laugh though, nerd."

Dream's lips began twitching with premature amusement, "Well, what is it. I don't have all day, Techno."

"Seems to me like ya do. What, with you staring out the window lookin' all sad like that."

Dream felt his mood dip slightly.

Techno winced, "Sorry. Actually, you bein' sad was actually why I wanted to uh-" he cleared his throat again, "Give you this."

Techno stuck out his other hand, his eyes closed as if he couldn't bare to watch Dream's reaction. Within his large hand, he delicately cradled a small, red flower.

Equally as careful, Dream retrieved it, "A poppy?" he asked quietly.

Techno blushed, "You said they were your favorite so I- you know."

Dream stared down at it softly. It had been a long time since he'd seen a poppy. He'd been passed out when Techno had carried him back to his house, and it'd been ice and snow ever since.

"Thank you." He looked away from the red petals and smiled up at Techno, "Really. Thank you."

Techno averted his gaze, "Yeah, no problem. You just looked so miserable and stuff so..." He rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous habit, "Can I?"

Dream tilted his head in confusion, "Can you what?"

"The- uh, hair flower thing," he said, gesturing vaguely to Dream's blonde hair.

Dream smiled, huffing in amusement, "You want to put a flower in my hair, Techno?"

Techno scowled, "Never mind,"

He turned to leave, but Dream was quick to grab onto the cloth of his cape, "No! No, I didn't mean to make fun of you. I think it's cute. You can- you can put a flower in my hair if you want, Techno."

Dream handed the flower back, his touch lingering a little longer than necessary.

Gently, Techno brushed Dream's hair out of his face and slid the stem of the flower behind Dream's ear. His large hand moved to cradle the blonde's face.

"I think you look cute, too," Techno said, smirking slightly as Dream's face reddened to match Techno's.

Dream looked back out the window, smile on his face, "Whatever, idiot."
