Yuri was now a prisoner. He was being prosecuted and was transferred to ‘Gulag’ (a soviet forced labour camp). In all his grief, he knew that one day the Bolsheviks will fall. He was now a nationalist and the ordeals taught him all about autocracy and centralisation of power.
One day, he saw someone who looked familiar in the Gulag. Then he was bewildered to see someone who he thought was lost in the war against oppression. His heart started beating rapidly as he started approaching the man. Yuri put his hand on the person’s shoulder. The man turned.
He didn’t know how to react, a dilemma clouded his mind. He didn’t know if he should be happy to see the him undead or sad to be the bearer of the news that’ll ruin that person’s hope of utopia, the only thing that kept him alive.
