Maddie's POV

Kyle walked, not really walked more like dragged herself, through the door looking disheveled and exhausted as well as sporting a hoodie that clearly wasn't hers.

The sympathetic best friend inside of me would have just let her go to bed and do our planned intervention tomorrow, but the protective mother inside of me was gonna sit her ass down so we could lecture that girl properly.

As she dragged herself through the living room area, the girls and I quickly stood up, all of us with somewhat irritated expressions in our faces.

Kyle knew exactly where this little chat was going to go, the girl wasn't stupid. Even though she might have not wanted to hear it at that particular moment, she knew what was coming.

The annoyed expression on her face gave it all away.

For about two minutes we were in an awkward standoff where the girls and I intently stared at Kyle as she glared at us back. None of us saying a word. I knew that if I ever wanted to get to bed that night, someone had to start this conversation by saying something. Anything.

"And where the hell have you been?!" I spoke first.

"Out." Kyle replied in a bored tone, stopping at one of the couches and throwing herself down. She sighed in content as she eased her body into the plush cushions.

"Out." I mimicked rolling my eyes. This girl. "And while you were out, did you bother telling anybody where you were fucking going or who with?"

"Look, if I told anybody any of those things, they wouldn't have let me go!" She spat, her voice low and laced with annoyance.

I guess she kind of had a point. Even if she did inform Collin that she was going out, he wouldn't have let her go.

Despite Kyle's somewhat legitimate argument, I was still a bit pissed at her. She nearly gave all of us a heart attack.

Especially Joey.

Actually, I think he was the one who noticed that she was gone in the first place. Once he knew for sure, he almost broke down our dressing room door.

I didn't care if Kyle didn't want to do this or if she was tired from whatever she has done today. An explanation was fucking needed and so help me god we were going to pull one out of her tonight, even if it takes all night.

Okay, well maybe not really all night. My eyes were starting to burn due to fatigue and my legs felt like they would give way at any moment, but I put on the brave face and brought my focus back to the present conversation.

"So?" Tess spoke next. "When you were out you could've called or texted, or at least tweeted for God's sakes!" Tess threw her arms around to express her points. Her cheeks flushed pink in a slight rage and honestly, she looked ticked off. "Anything, Ky! Anything, so we would at least know you were alive!"

Kyle's eyes softened as she finally took a few seconds to study each one of our facial expressions. I think she had just put two and two together and understood our concern.

You know it's real when Tess gets mad.

I heard Kyle sigh heavily before running a hand through her black hair.

"Look guys, I am so sorry. I understand now that you were just worried about me. I get it." Kyle started slowly, casting her gaze down to the ground. "So, are we cool?"

Tess, Bri and I glanced at each other, exchanging silent messages to one another and debating what happened next, as Kyle looked at us patiently but expectantly.
