As I sat in a trance,
Barely giving time a glance,
Off went this chime,
That I once thought sublime,
But now when I hear it,
I then start to fear it,
When the sands move,
by and by,
15 minutes to midnight,
I then hear a flutter,
Of feet how they clutter,
And it gives me a shudder,
About the monsters in the night,
And the sands move,
by and by,
The clocks still ticking,
As I sit there and wonder,
Oh the sounds how they thunder,
It's my flesh that they hunger,
But I can not put up a fight,
Because the sands keep moving,
By and by,
Ten minutes to midnight,
I then made preparations,
That would destroy all the nations,
And rid myself of the creatures,
With their god awful features,
A risk I was willing to take,
For my own safety's sake,
And the sands move,
By and by,
Five minutes to midnight,
But then off went this flash,
Or was it a crash,
As I went off in a dash,
To find shelter from my creation,
As the sands move the last time,
By and by,
The clocks last ticking,
So I listen to the sounds,
Of death and hell hounds,
And my chest how it pounds,
All that's left is devastation,
And the sands stop,
Bye Bye,
The time is midnight.
