Its the next day, a Sunday to be exact and a certain spirit detective is spacing out.
Distracted, the afro haired girl didn't notice Genkai looking at her with a small smile on her face. The melanated girl is once again distracted and stuck in her own head with a look of affection on her face. She knows that look anywhere.
And she can only hope that her destiny isn't anything like her own.
"Earth to Winter" Genkai says, causing the girl to blink and sheepishly apologize once she realized that she was once again daydreaming. Genkai shakes her head at her antics.
"Sorry" she sheepishly apologize while awkwardly scratching the back of her head. Genkai smirks at her and stands up from her spot.
"Enough daydreaming, let's get you back to training"
"Right" The purple haired girl nodded with a stern look of determination on her face as she stand up and trailed behind the older woman toward the open field.
________Genkai stop once we reached the outskirts of the forest.
"What are we going to do here?" I asked in wonder. She seems to be looking down at something so I walked toward her and decided to peek over her shoulder, gasping in shock at the small helpless bird that laid on the ground.
"Oh no" I muttered in shock as I walked by Genkai and crouched down toward the bird, who wing is broken.
"His aura, I can feel that he's in pain"
"Yes he is, I sensed him while you were distracted, that's why I want you to heal him" Genkai said causing me to look at her and blinked in surprise.
"Heal him?, but I don't know how to heal"
"I know that, that is why you'll be learning today" She stated, both of her hands are folded behind her back as she glanced at me from the corner of her eyes.
"How can I help him" I asked, all evidence of being distracted moments ago gone as a serious expression adored my countenance. I want to help him.
"Close your eyes and concentrate your spirit energy into your hand, think of nothing but the task at hand which is helping this bird" She slowly instructed as I followed her instructions.
"Now inhale and let the emotions you're currently feeling overcome you"
I inhaled just as she instructed, feeling a surge of energy course throughout my body. Pulsing and detecting the aura of the bird that laid in front of me.
"Exhale and place your hand over the bird and focuse on healing it"
I can feel the energy in hand hand transferring over to the bird. Opening my eyes I can see my hand is glowing white as well as the bird wing. Once I felt the pain in the bird aura dissapated I removed my hand and watched in childlike wonder as the bird begin to chirp and flap its once broken wing. I can feel the birds gratitude from a mile away in his aura as he happily chirped at me and flew away soon after. I waved and once he's out of my line of vision a big smile broke out on my face.
"I did it!" I exclaimed in excitement as I look back at Genkai, who has a pleased look on her face.
"I healed his wing!"
"I told you all you need to do is have confidence in yourself, confidence is key as cliche as it sounds"
I hugged hug her, catching her off guard as I bounced up and down in my place. She didn't push me away and ended up patting me lightly on the back. I can hear a chuckle leave pass her lips.
"Thank you Master Genkai"
"Don't thank me yet, you still need more training. In a month I will be hosting a small tournament here, I want to you to join" She announced. I nervously begin to played with my fingers, a habit of mine that I do when I'm nervous.
