Eleven

No..Don't..Not again...You can't do this to her not again...NOO,Why her? Why couldn't it have been me..Not her.

I woke with a jolt and sat up breathing heavily I press my face into my hands and sigh deeply.

"Who's Kaity?" I jumped and a sharp intake of breath as I heard the voice of my roommate echo through the darkness that surrounded us.

"Circe?" I say wondering why she was awake.

"No Queen fucking Latifah..Yes it's me, Who's this Kaity?" She asks and my blood runs cold.

"N..no one,..W..why?"I stutter nervously hoping she can't sense anything in my voice.

"You were calling out her name, Saying..No..Not her..Not Kaity"She says and my heart is beating so fast I'm surprised it is still enclosed in my chest.

"She's..No one..It doesn't matter"I brush it off hoping she doesn't ask anymore questions, "Why are you awake?"I ask, She seems to catch on that I don't want to talk about it or she just got bored with the conversation but she moves on.

"Just restless you know, Being in an unfamiliar place, I'm still getting used to it"She murmurs quietly and I nod even though she cannot see me in the pitch black even though our eyes have adjusted by now to the dark.

"Ah"I mutter not knowing how else to respond.

"We need to go back up there"She says and I know exactly where she is talking about.

"I suppose....Not tomorrow apparently something is going on and if we aren't there people may ask questions and look for us, Soon though"I agree and I heart a murmur of agreement, We stay in silence for a couple minutes before I heard her breathing even out and I decide to close my eyes, Begging the world not to put me back into that nightmare of a memory and make me dream happily for once and not take me back to the worst part of my past....

"What's going on?" I whisper to Daniel as we take our seats in the hall.

"Oh today is when the Head comes here for a month before going back to their high life in the main part of London. They check to make sure we are up to the standards and the curriculum is correct."He says back.

"So Patton isn't the Head?"I say questionably.

"God no, He is the deputy and head of department but no, He isn't"He says and I nod understanding. The hall is alive with hushed chatter until silence starts to spread, I can see someone walk in and see its Patton when he gets to the stand at the front of the stage.

"It's come to that time of year again boys..and ladies"He says looking around for us in the audience and giving us a small nod before continuing, "Today, Head teacher Hall will be here for a month and I expect best behaviour and show what we are made of" He says and there's an applause, I glance down to see a tall, thin, blonde woman step out from behind the curtain, a dainty blonde girl walks behind her and they both stand at the centre the younger girl just behind.

The younger girl had long hair that reached her waist and looked about our age. The woman started talking and I listened in surprise as this was the head (and what turned out to be her daughter) She explained about the system and said to act as normal and that her school was going right blah blah blah before another applause and people started filtering out of the hall. We walked out and stopped in the court just outside.

"So what lesson do we have now?" Kady asked.

"Art"Lewis answered.

"Oh Dan, Your favourite lesson"Ben says something behind the tone of his voice.

"Dan likes Art..Or possibly Loveees it"Lewis adds childishly whilst Dan looks rather embarrassed.

"Stop being so pathetic"He says rolling his eyes.

"Uh huh"Lewis says and the boys laugh.

"What's so funny?"Circe asks narrowing her eyes curious.

"You'll see" Lewis says as Dan has already stalked off in the direction of the Art room.

We enter a giant room that has paintings hung all around, Easels sit at the side of the room and there are an array of colours and brushes, Penicls and paper all at the side in a massive storage unit. It was Ana amazing sight and it was obvious it was a common and much loved subject at the school.

We get told to stay with the boys at their table and we sat next one another like at lunch. The teacher started and we setted off on a painting activity, So we were stood around the classroom and started painting whatever we wanted. Suddenly there was a higher pitched shriek and a girl came running out and ran straight to Dan.

"Danny"She called smiling and placed a kiss on his cheek. The rest of the guys were smirking looking at this. She then paced a small peck on his lips. I watched them wide eyed and she finally turned to me. "Danny, Who's this?"She asked, She want spiteful or mean in any way, It was a real innocent question.

There are times in this world when you feel as if things are going right and then there are times when things surprise and shock you so much as if you have been hit with a bullet..That moment came when Dan spoke next, I don't know why but it felt like it..

"This is Macey, Macey this is Alline...My girlfriend"

And there it was...There was the bullet.
