It was Mickey's first day of high school. Of course, she was going to the same school that she had been going to for the past two years, But still, she was in high school now. Right Now Mickey was hanging out on the front steps of Degrassi, waiting for Manny and Emma to show up. Craig was taking photos, to Mickey's right Marco and Ellie were sitting on a bench together, and to her left Paige and Spinner were being all lovey-dovey. "So, this is it. The start of grade 10, a whole new year. I'm just so happy I have you to share it with," Paige said to Spinner.
"Me too, Honeybee," Spinner said back to her.
"Honeybee? Did he say honeybee?" Ellie asked, from her spot on the bench.
"Yeah. I bet you guys have pet names too," Craig said, going to snap a picture of Ellie and Marco, but Ellie lifted her camera and took Craig's picture first, then she blew on her camera like it was a smoking gun and she'd just won a shootout.
Craig turned his Camera to Mickey taking her picture, "What about you? How do you feel about the love doves over there? Not still hung up on Spinner are you?"
"Ha Ha, I'm so over Spinner, in fact, I'm looking for a new boyfriend this year," Mickey answered.
"Anyone in particular?" Craig asked,
"No. Why? you wanna apply?" Mickey asked, jokingly. Craig let out a nervous chuckle, making Mickey laugh. "Chill, Craig. It was a joke, I know you're still with Ash," Craig and Mickey had actually hung out a lot during the summer after their little talk at the luau dance the previous school year. As it turned out they had a fair bit in common, other than both having a dead parent. Both Mickey and Craig enjoyed photography, both liked music and could play at least one instrument as well as both being pretty good at singing. But, of course, every time they hung out it was nothing but platonic, and Ashley was with them half the time.

This year Mickey had Ms. Hatzilakos' class as her homeroom class, along with all her friends. Ms. Hatzilakos was handing out the locker assignments and locks. JT had grabbed his locker info and headed back to his seat near Mickey and Toby. "Liberty Van-Zandt," Ms. Hatzilakos read off the next name and Liberty went up to get her locker information.
"So JT, which lovely lady will you be going after this year?" Toby asked JT.
"Well, there's Ms. Hot-zilakos, always tempting," JT said, making Mickey and Toby chuckle. "And then there's the tangy Ms. Kwan,"
