Sky's Lullaby .11

Sky's POV:
We were walking around Game City while eating our ordered meals from McDonald's. I was still holding Kiwi's daughter, Cici. Thank god she was no longer an imposter, my arm still hurts from the many times she bit me. Right now she was eating apple slices from Caution's Happy Meal, throwing them away in disgust, and getting a new one hoping for better luck. "Yucky" she said throwing another one to the ground. Kiwi who wasn't far behind from us laughed as she picked the wasted food. She comes a bit closer to give Cici her sippy cup, which she gladly takes. Caution who was walking beside us, took a huge bite from his cheeseburger "One, this burger is freakin' delicious and two, that kid has good taste in food because those apples taste like freakin' soap-". I chuckle and ruffle his hair.

After walking for a while we pass a movie theater and Kiwi squeals in excitement "Oh my gosh guys can we pleaseeee watch a movieeee" Everyone agrees and we walk in each paying for a ticket after the majority agrees on a movie. I pay for Caution's ticket because he can't pay himself, Cici, the Ninja twins, and the Potato children are dropped off in the kids center that was conveniently just around the corner. We walk in and watch the ads while waiting for the movie to start. The room filled with chatter and movement. When it finally does start the room goes silent and everyone stares at the screen.

About 30 minutes in Caution complains about the movie being boring, earning a few shushes from the people around us. He slumps down in his chair and watches the movie with an annoyed expression, shoving popcorn into his mouth. He falls asleep a few minutes later and I reposition him to a more comfortable position, only for his head to fall on my shoulder. I don't bother to move him and continue watching the movie. I sneak a few handfuls of popcorn from his bucket, and shove it into my mouth. As the movie continued, I swear I was getting attached to these characters, and then there was a death scene, it was already hinted at multiple times but it still made my eyes prick with tears. Beside me I could see Kiwi wailing and Emily trying to shush her and apologizing to people around her. Onion rolled his eyes at Kiwi's sob fest and shoved some popcorn into his mouth.

When the movie finally ended Caution was still sleeping. Not wanting to wake him I picked up his limp sleepy body and put him on my back. "Isn't he too old to be carried like that?" Onion says as we walk out. I roll my eyes at him and ignore him "You seriously baby him too much, he's 14 not 5." "Shut up" I say rolling my eyes again.

We pick up the Kids, get back to the hotel, and get into the elevator, Emily still trying to comfort Kiwi "Why did he dieee he deserved betterrrr" Kiwi said still upset. Onion smacked his forehead in annoyance. We part ways to get to our rooms, Everyone saying their good nights and getting ready for bed. I place Caution on a bed and tuck him in, before getting into bed and sleeping myself.

~Hours later~
It's probably been hours, but I've been awoken by the sound of someone tossing and turning, it was Caution, I carefully get up and out of bed to gently shake him awake. He gasps and begins crying. "Caution? What's wrong?" I say in a quiet tone. Caution looks at me with teary eyed. "I-I had that dream a-gain, the one with the boys..." I know exactly what he's talking about, he's been having dreams of boys making fun of him, telling him he's not a real boy, and forcing him to do "girl" things.(Caution is trans btw) I pat his back and give him a friendly smile. "Don't listen to them you are a real boy! plus it's just a dream, and dreams aren't real." He wipes his face with his shirt sleeve "No, no the dreams right... I'm not a boy, I'm a girl. I'm just being stupid, being something I obviously am not." I look at him with a face of complete shock. "Do you hear yourself right now?! You're whatever you want to be! Don't let anyone tell you who or what to be!" I say gently shaking him "When I see you I see a handsome, strong young boy who can do anything he puts his mind to!" I say meaning every word I said. Caution looks at me with glassy eyes and hugs me. I hug him back and get tuck him back in kissing his forehead "You're the best mom." he says. My eyes sparkle, I must've misheard him "What did you say caution?" I ask, but he's already fast asleep. I feel warmth in my heart and can't help smiling! H-he called me mom!
